Michael Tortorici

Michael A. Tortorici is one of the Founding Members of Ariel Property Advisors. Serving the company as Executive Vice President in the Investment Sales Group, Mr. Tortorici is responsible for originating and executing the sale of commercial real estate transactions throughout the five boroughs. Since beginning his career in commercial real estate in 2004, Mr. Tortorici has participated in the sale of over 600 transactions worth more than $2 billion in gross consideration. Mr. Tortorici has represented many institutional and non-profit clients, including The Catholic Archdiocese of New York, The Watchtower, L+M Partners and Two Trees. He serves as a regular source for various publications, such as The New York Times, The Commercial Observer, The Real Deal, Real Estate Weekly and the New York Daily News. The Commercial Observer named Mr. Tortorici one of Commercial Observer’s 30 Under 30, which recognizes emerging commercial real estate professionals, and the Real Estate Forum has identified him as one of Tomorrow’s Leaders: New York, as well as naming him and his partners Top NY Brokers in 2013 and 2014. Mr. Tortorici is involved in various non-profit initiatives, including The Inner City Scholarship Fund and The Futures in Education Program, both of which support educational measures for K-12 students throughout New York City. He is an active member of industry organizations such as the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) and Bronx-Manhattan North Association of Realtors (BMAR). Prior to forming Ariel Property Advisors, Mr. Tortorici spent seven years at Massey Knakal Realty Services, now Cushman & Wakefield. Brandon Polakoff is a Principal and Head of NYC Investment Sales based in Avison Young’s New York City office. Brandon is recognized as one of the youngest Principals in the company, a distinction earned through his outstanding performance since joining the firm in 2018. During his 17+ year career as a commercial real estate broker MONA chief executive officer and founder Brandon L. Singer has negotiated lease transactions with an aggregate value totaling well over $3 billion. In September of 2020, Singer launched MONA, a forward-thinking retail brokerage firm that guides tenants and landlords through the increasingly disrupted retail and commercial real estate landscape. Since its inception, MONA has hired many of the top retail brokers in New York City and become a launchpad for the retail stars of tomorrow all while negotiating many of the most prominent retail real estate deals in New York City. Singer’s myriad deals at MONA have included Gucci’s lease of 45 Ninth Avenue and Breitling’s lease of 875 Washington Street, both of which were signed in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, as well as LUISAVIAROMA’s lease of 1 Bond Street in Noho for the brand’s first United States store. All three deals were nominated for REBNY’s prestigious Retail Deal of the Year award. Singer also negotiated flagship leases for clients Ben Soleimani Furniture, Showfields, Padel Haus, and many others. As a corporate executive and founder, Singer is most proud of bringing aboard several high-profile brokers and their teams to be a part of MONA’s winning culture, as well as fostering an environment where new talent can learn and grow their careers in an accelerated fashion relative to other commercial real estate firms. Prior to his commercial real estate career, Brandon graduated from The George Washington University in 2007 with a degree in Business Administration, and as a proud alum, Brandon has been back to campus to teach classes in the Real Estate school. A registered architect and active member of the American Institute of Architects, Elisabeth Martin, FAIA, has four decades of experience working on projects of a wide array of building types and scales. She holds a Master of Architecture from Yale University and serves our profession as a Practice Leader at H2M architects + engineers and as an adjunct professor in Architecture and Interior Design. In recognition of her advocacy for design excellence in public buildings and the stewardship she has brought to projects in the public realm, she was awarded the AIANY Public Architect Award in 2002 and elevated to the AIA College of Fellows in 2017. Ms. Martin contributes her skill in Library Planning and Design through her work with the International Federation of Library Associations Library Design Section, Public Library of the Year Jury, and its Inspiring Libraries Task Force as well as through her decades of prior leadership roles in the many library design committees under the American Library Association. Ms. Martin has years of experience navigating complex project relationships, procurement requirements, and budgets. Prior to joining H2M in July 2025, she served as principal of MDA Designgroup Architects & Planners, leading their portfolio of public and private sector projects for over two decades. Before leading MDA, she served as the Director of Planning, Design, and Facilities for Brooklyn Public Library and as the Program Director for Libraries at the NYC Department of Design and Construction. Her 11 years of stewardship in the public sector brought accelerated schedules and higher quality design and construction to a large portfolio of library design and construction projects at over two hundred NYC library sites. Known for her strong advocacy for quality design. Ms. Martin continues to lecture widely on successful strategies for library design and construction.
