With over 20 years of healthcare experience as both a designer and lead planner, Laura strives to bring a holistic approach to each project. Her expertise in design coupled with her leadership help guide teams to successful outcomes for her clients. As a practice leader for Perkins & Will’s New York Studio, Laura is responsible for mentoring staff and allowing them to meet their goals and vision for the future of healthcare design. Laura helps lead clients through all stages of design development, understanding the impacts of evidenced based design while meeting the client’s vision for their projects. As a LEED accredited professional, Laura has been involved with designing LEED Platinum healthcare facilities, numerous outpatient renovations and new construction as well as working with clients such as Children’s National Medical Center, Inspira Health Network and NewYork-Presbyterian. Past clients include the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford, Einstein Healthcare Network and Mount Sinai Health System. Laura is a licensed designer with a bachelor’s in Interior Design from Texas Tech University.

Nick brings nearly 40 years of experience in healthcare code compliance, fire protection, and emergency management. Before joining our team, he served as the Fire Chief with the State of Connecticut, directly responsible for protecting a vulnerable residential population with the CT Department of Developmental Services. Nick also holds a bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Technology. Since joining Jensen Hughes, Nick has been responsible for and led teams across North America and the globe providing fire code compliance and emergency management services to healthcare. Nick and his teams have partnered with regional and state Healthcare entities, Healthcare Systems, Hospitals, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Long Term Care and across the healthcare continuum to help these organizations be safe, secure and resilient. Nick is currently the Chair of the NFPA 99 Technical Committee on Health Care Emergency Management and Security and a Primary on the NFPA 101 Life Safety Code® Board and Care Facilities Technical Committee. Nick’s fire safety experience includes years as a career and volunteer firefighter. He is a Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) and Certified Fire Service Instructor and has taught advanced courses in firefighter training, incident command and hazardous materials response. He knows and understands the regulatory landscape of Life Safety compliance and Emergency Preparedness in healthcare, and he is also a frequent speaker in local, regional, and national healthcare venues.

Mr. Marron is the founder and CEO of Strategic Venue Partners (SVP), the leading provider of in-building wireless connectivity-as-a-service. SVP is transforming wireless connectivity by partnering directly with venues to develop, install, own and operate customized in-building wireless systems, like distributed antenna systems, Wi-Fi, Public Safety Systems, fiber assets, internet protocol television and citizens broadband radio service CBRS (OnGo®) private LTE. SVP’s unique long-term approach to developing critical infrastructure removes the connectivity burden from enterprise businesses through meeting existing needs while also planning for future infrastructure changes and developments.

Amanda’s desire to create calm, peaceful environments lead her to focus on healthcare design for 8 of her 12 years in architecture. Designing with considerations for natural light, acoustic control and intuitive wayfinding are key drivers for Amanda’s healthcare projects. Amanda has managed and designed a range of inpatient and outpatient facilities. She excels at creating consensus between a variety of stakeholders. Amanda is responsible for maintaining the project schedule, budget, scope, quality and leading the A/E team through all design phases and construction.

Steve joined LaSalle in 2000 to establish the firm’s US medical office investment practice. He has overseen the acquisition of medical office investments valued at over $2 billion made on behalf of the Medical Office Fund series, LaSalle Property Fund, JLLIPT and various custom accounts.

Before joining LaSalle, Steve served as Senior Vice President & Chief Investment Officer of Healthcare Financial Partners REIT where he oversaw investments in medical office buildings, assisted living facilities and nursing homes.

Steve holds a BSc in Finance from the University of Maryland and is a Certified Public Accountant. He has also completed extensive coursework in real estate valuation through the Appraisal Institute.

Chris Terry is a partner in the Real Estate Practice Group of Kleinberg Kaplan. He advises a diverse group of clients, including investors, owners, operators, developers, lenders and borrowers, in the areas of real estate and real estate finance law, including joint venture transactions, real estate development, sales and acquisitions, financing, leasing and real estate private equity across the continental United States and Hawaii. He has particular experience in medical office and healthcare development.

Chris is a member of the inaugural Rising Leaders Council (“RLC”) of Revista. As Managing Director – Buildings, Jenny Freeman is responsible for leading the growth and technical direction of the firm’s market comprising the healthcare, life sciences, higher ed, cultural, corporate/commercial, and government sectors. Possessing more than 30 years of professional experience, she is known throughout the industry as a builder with expertise in pre-construction, planning, and construction of major overbuild, modernization, renovation, and ground-up new construction projects. Ms. Freeman is an active industry leader and serves on the Board of Professional Women in Construction.

He has personally performed all roles as part of multi-disciplined engineering teams on a variety of project types and sizes. Jessica Lappin is the President of the Alliance for Downtown New York. The organization manages New York City’s largest Business Improvement District (BID) and provides service, advocacy, research and information to advance Lower Manhattan as a global model of a 21st century Central Business District for businesses, residents and visitors. Lappin also serves as the President of its sister organization, the Downtown Lower Manhattan Association.

A lifelong New Yorker, and recent Crain’s “40 Under 40” honoree, Ms. Lappin has a distinguished record in civic life and public service. Since taking the helm of the Alliance in February 2014, Lappin has emerged as the voice of the downtown business community and ensured that the BID remains at the forefront of efforts to shape the neighborhood. Under her leadership, the Alliance has advocated successfully for incentives to improve the business climate, significantly expanded its free public WiFi network, received notable awards for both its marketing videos and redesigned website, instituted a district-wide solar-powered recycling program and helped secure nearly $100 million in resiliency funding for Lower Manhattan. Lappin has also led the organization’s economic development efforts to create a first-of-its kind innovation hub, work space and collaboration center called Lower Manhattan HQ.

Prior to her tenure at the Alliance, Lappin was elected to serve two terms in the New York City Council, representing the Upper East Side, East Midtown, and Roosevelt Island, and was praised by the New York Times for her “steely resolve, dedication, and energy.” She played a key role in bringing the CornellTechnion Applied Science and Engineering Campus to Roosevelt Island, oversaw the approval of over 20,000 new public school seats citywide and 5 new schools on the East Side, helped keep 100 senior centers from closing, expanded the city’s recycling efforts and spearheaded the successful development of four new waterfront parks. And, as Co-Chair of the Women’s Caucus, she authored a nationally recognized, landmark bill to protect women’s health and reproductive rights.

The Aspen Institute, a renowned international think tank, selected her as a Rodel Fellow in 2011. The Rodel program is focused on transcending political partisanship and addressing overarching questions of leadership and effective governance.

She also serves on the Steering Committee of the Association for a Better New York (ABNY) and the boards of the FDR Memorial and Four Freedoms Park, Battery Conservancy, American Skin Association, and as an Ex Officio member of New York City Center and NYC & Company.
