Eric J. Hoffman is currently a Vice President of Operations at McCarthy Building Companies, Inc and has spent his entire 18-year career with McCarthy. Eric has managed multiple large-scale healthcare projects in Southern California. He most recently delivered the new Loma Linda University Medical Center Campus Transformation Project and is actively working on the Hoag Irvine Expansion and CHOC Southwest Tower. Having delivered over two and a half million square-feet of healthcare facilities in Southern California, Eric is truly a subject matter expert in delivering HCAI facilities.

Licensed Architect with over 35 years of diverse experience. Currently Principal-In-Charge of Healthcare for the Los Angeles Arcadis Office and the Practice Group Manager for Healthcare, West, US, Architecture & Urbanism. Projects include healthcare (hospitals, clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and medical office buildings), mixed-use, senior housing, civic and municipal facilities, religious buildings, commercial offices, restaurants, equestrian centers, private observatories, single-family custom and multi-family residential. Brian was the project architect of the Green House Project® prototype in California which became the basis for the Small Home model for skilled nursing facilities included in the 2016 CBC. Co-author white paper “Revitalizing Healthcare: Lessons Learned from Consumer-Focused Industries”, 2023. He is a Past President of the AIA Pasadena & Foothill Chapter and current Co-Founder/Co-Chair of the AIA P&F Academy of Architecture in Health. Brian also serves as the Location Leader for the Los Angeles Office.

Mr. Saba is responsible for asset management with a focus on healthcare real estate at Stockdale. Previously, he worked

with Meridian, a Marcus and Millichap subsidiary, as an acquisition manager in Southern California from 2015 to 2016.

Prior to Meridian, Mr. Saba was the Director of Leasing and Marketing for Pacific Medical Buildings’ Real Estate

Services team, responsible for building and managing the leasing platform for a medical office portfolio in excess of 3

million square feet across the western US. Before Pacific Medical Buildings, Andrew worked with Healthcare REIT, now

Welltower, in the Management Services Group division as a property manager, beginning in South Florida and relocating

to Southern California in 2007. Mr. Saba holds a California RE salesperson license as well as the RPA designation

through BOMI. Mr. Saba holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California and a

Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Communication from Florida State University.

Mr. Kasm is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of IRA Capital. His primary responsibilities include directing IRA’s investment strategy and overseeing the firm’s acquisition and portfolio management processes. Throughout his career, Mr. Kasm has been involved in the acquisition, financing, and development of investments valued in excess of $5.0 billion across a range of asset classes including multifamily, retail, office, and industrial. Prior to co-founding IRA Capital, Mr. Kasm founded and operated AZUR Realty Partners, a full-service real estate firm where he was responsible for investment, development, and asset management activities for its own account and select family office. He is a licensed California Real Estate Broker and is actively involved in various commercial real estate organizations. Mr. Kasm earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Masters of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California.

Ryan Borzouei is a seasoned real estate professional with over ten years of experience in acquisitions,

development, leasing, and asset management for private equity firms and institutional owners.

Currently, he serves as Vice President at Meridian, specializing in healthcare real estate acquisitions and

development.

In his previous role at Sila Realty Trust, Ryan was instrumental in sourcing and underwriting $600 million

in medical outpatient and post-acute properties, significantly enhancing the REIT's $2.5 billion

healthcare portfolio. Prior to Sila, he made substantial contributions at Cypress West Partners,

underwriting over $1 billion in real estate assets and successfully closing transactions exceeding $275

million. Ryan also gained valuable experience at EY, BlackRock, and Bank of America.

He holds an MBA in Real Estate Finance from the USC Marshall School of Business and a BA in Economics

from the University of California, San Diego. Additionally, Ryan is a licensed real estate broker in

California.

Mark Jones is the Senior Vice President, Partnerships and Strategy at PMB. Mark brings a dedication to work that is the stuff of legend, being famous for emails starting at 4:00 AM.

At PMB, Mark oversees partnerships, and strategic growth for the organization. He has more than 20 years of healthcare related experience in development, design, construction, consulting, strategy and operations.

Prior to joining PMB, Mark held several positions at ERDMAN, a design build firm located in Madison, Wisconsin, most recently as SVP of Senior living. His project experience includes senior living, on and off campus master planning, new hospital construction, market analysis, ambulatory surgery centers and community health facilities.

Mark received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington State University.

Ireland’s loss was Southern California’s gain. The co-founder of our company is the garrulous Irishman John Parker. On the surface, he is an easy-going gentleman. On the job, he is all business.

John Parker co-founded Parker Brown, Inc. in 1994 with Scott Brown. The two set the “get the job done” tone for the company’s construction operations and corporate management.

Leaving Ireland for the U.S. in 1989, John owned and operated John Parker Building Ltd., a residential remodeling firm. After relocating his family to Los Angeles, John was the construction manager at a Los Angeles area commercial construction company until the inception of Parker Brown, Inc. in 1994.

John and Scott are personally involved in every project that Parker Brown, Inc. is awarded. They provide oversight from the job site or from the corporate office, and, in a lot of cases, from both.

John is deeply involved in the communities he serves. He is the past president of the Canoga Park/West Hills Chamber of Commerce, former president of the Canoga Park Improvement Association, a past member of the Oversight Committee on the Bond Program of Pierce College, and executive vice president of the Women’s Odyssey, a residential drug and alcohol recovery program. Currently, he is a commissioner serving on the Los Angeles County Building Rehabilitation & Appeals Board, and is presently the president of the United Chamber of Commerce of the San Fernando Valley.

Keith, is a Principal at SLAM and serves as the Management lead for the Los Angeles Studio as well as the National Director of Innovation for the firm. Keith combines his unique experiences including construction, technical architect, leadership with his passion for design and innovation forming a very broad and unique perspective. Keith engages challenge with a strong team-building focus that leverages the very best from those around him. Through these networked relationships and exposures, Keith has a unique skill in understanding the interconnected nature of seemingly disparate technologies and strategies and cultivating the development of new and innovative solutions. He holds an Masters of Architecture from Tulane University and is a member of the California Council of the American Institute of Architects.

Justin Bertain joined Turner Construction Company in 2004 and has taken on a range of roles that

include preconstruction, project management, and superintending, touching every aspect of the

construction process. He is currently the healthcare Project Executive for Turner’s southern California

region. In this role, he oversees our healthcare preconstruction and construction teams, in addition to

supporting the project goals and objectives of his clients. Working closely with owners, architects, and

trade partners, Justin acts as a driving force for lean practices by promoting innovation and efficiency in

the construction process. Notable clients that Justin has worked with include Kaiser Permanente,

MemorialCare, Keck Medicine of USC, and Emanate Health.

Justin received his bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Cal Poly, Pomona and is actively

involved in such organizations as Design Build Institute of America (DBIA), Associated General

Contractors of California (AGC) and the American Subcontractor Association (ASA).

Serj is a results-driven leader in the healthcare industry with over fifteen years of experience in capital program and portfolio management, strategy, finance and budget planning, operations, contract negotiations, business planning, and long-range strategic planning. He received his MS in Healthcare Management from Cal State LA to further his skills. Serj has held many titles and leadership roles, of the most recent he was the Executive Director of Enterprise Masterplan, Planning, Design and Construction for Children’s Hospital of Orange County.

As Executive Director, Serj led a $1.3B capital program where he developed the department, team and put forward strategies to lead the execution of complex capital projects. Serj worked closely with the executive suite to help navigate through strategic priorities, complex problems, and forecast long-range financial plans. Serj is also part-time faculty at Cal State LA where he lectures on Decision Making for Managers, Healthcare Strategy, and Leadership Development.

Prior to CHOC, Serjwas the Administrator of Facilities and Support Services at CHLA. In his progressive role as Managerto Administrator for Facilities and Support Services, Serj was responsible for over 300 full-time employees. He also led major capital projects and performed long-range capital planning. He implemented operational improvement, managed enterprise and capital projects and portfolios, provided master planning, managed support services, provided administrative oversight, managed teams, and oversaw all aspects of capital projects. Serj was also engaged in design and space planning, operations and program management, strategy and business development, finance and budget planning, stakeholder and executive management, and contract negotiations and management.

Serj has successfully implemented and led large multi-million capital enterprise-wide solutions, programs, and projects while effectively collaborating with team members, leadership, stakeholders, and elected officials.

Serj brings the strategies, understanding and perspective of an owner to his role as Turner & Townsend Healthcare’s West Division lead.

Bringing a wealth of design and construction experience, Costello will lead the design, construction and occupancy of projects under CHOC’s Enterprise Master Plan, an expansive 10-year initiative involving new construction and the renovation of existing spaces, primarily on CHOC’s campus in Orange, Calif. Before joining CHOC, Costello served as senior principal for facilities design and construction for Hoag in Newport Beach. Previously, she was a senior project manager for Jacobs Construction. She holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from UC Berkeley.

Kevin Cheng is Director of Construction at the City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, CA. He currently manages a capital construction portfolio in excess of $700M. Kevin oversees all construction activities for facilities within the City of Hope enterprise including Duarte Campus National Medical Center and Medical Foundation (30+ sites). Cheng’s past experience includes having worked for General Contractors, as well as owner’s rep in Real Estate Development. He holds a J.D. from University of the Pacific– McGeorge School of Law and a B.S. in Business Administration from UC Riverside. He is also a licensed California real estate broker. In other capacities, he currently serves as Planning Commissioner for the City of San Marino and as an Governor appointed member of the Dental Board of California.

John Koss is a Senior Vice President, Asset Management & Partner with Anchor Health Properties. Based

in the San Diego California office, he brings more than 35 years of broad commercial real estate

experience in areas such as asset and property management, contract and lease negotiation, as well as

financial and statistical modeling.

John is responsible for leading the firm’s asset management and operations for the Western Region US

investments, as well as supporting underwriting and due diligence efforts on new firm medical office

investments. In collaboration with the Development and Property Management teams, he works to

identify opportunities and create value in Anchor’s medical office properties while providing leasing

direction, risk mitigation, and budget accountability.

Prior to joining Anchor, John spent seven years as an Asset Manager for Lillibridge Healthcare

Services/Ventas, Inc. serving the Western Region of the country. He has also served as the Vice

President of Asset Management at Grubb & Ellis Realty Investors, and the President and Principal at

Teak Properties.

He holds a California real estate broker license and is a Certified Property Manager (CPM®) for which he

serves on the National Audit and Investments Committee, as well as a Certified Commercial Investment

Manager (CCIM), for which he serves as a member of the National Audit Committee.

John received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern

California.

With nearly three decades of experience delivering industry-leading projects in the healthcare and life sciences sectors, Duane Killion brings a wealth of knowledge to MGAC as a Director in our Los Angeles office. Over the years, Duane has led projects for large-scale medical centers, pharmaceutical production facilities, and state-of-the-art public and private institution research facilities. Driven by a deep passion for championing enduring and purposeful work, Duane is known for his expertise in tackling complex and often technically challenging builds.

As a LEED® Accredited Professional and member of the U.S. Green Building Council, he has helped countless clients pursue and achieve sustainability goals and channels an ethos for building a better future into every project he manages. Duane is a native Californian and holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Janet Pangman is a Principal at ZGF Architects with over 24 years of experience in the programming, planning, design, and delivery of complex healthcare projects. With communication and care at the core of her leadership style, Janet is a medical planner who designs healthcare facilities with heart. Inspired by creating comfortable, welcoming environments that ease the hardship of illness, Janet takes pleasure in creating a dialogue between clients and users to understand how they work and translating that into spaces that support their goals and workflows. Her keen awareness of medical facility operations and functional requirements allows Janet to simultaneously address the aesthetics, workflow, and technical issues to create healthcare environments that that foster compassion and promote holistic healing. She is a frequent speaker at national conferences and is currently President of Women in Healthcare Greater Los Angeles, a national non-profit organization focused on promoting the professional development of women in the healthcare industry through networking, education, and mentorship.

Dana is the Director of Operational Planning and Facilities Development at Kaiser Permanente,

Orange County. She joined the Southern California Permanente Medical Group (SCPMG) team

in 2013 as the Department Administrator for the Gardena, Torrance and Manhattan Beach

medical office buildings. She also had the opportunity to work with the teams that designed

and built both the Manhattan Beach MOB and Signal Hill MOB (Next Generation) medical office

buildings.

Dana transitioned to the Orange County leadership team in 2016. In her current role, Dana

represents the SCPMG physicians, administrators and staff while working with the design,

construction and facilities/maintenance teams in the Orange County Service Area. In her work

with the Executive Leadership, KP National Facilities Services (NFS), architects, decision support,

and the regional Care Transformation team, Dana has a unique role of applying her career’s

experience to the design, construction and operational function of the medical office buildings,

patient care areas and administrative spaces throughout the entire OC Service area.

Before joining Kaiser Permanente in 2013, Dana enjoyed a career spanning more than 25 years

in hospital and healthcare administration around Southern California, holding leadership

positions in supply chain, performance improvement and perioperative services. Dana earned

her BA in Biology from UC San Diego, Revelle College and her MHA from the University of

Minnesota. Outside of work, Dana is a National Elite official for women’s lacrosse and enjoys

spending time with her partner, active teenager and two senior rescue dogs.

Jason leads the pursuit and management of all healthcare related projects for Bernards including hospitals, medical office buildings, skilled nursing facilities, and VA healthcare. With a thorough understanding of HCAI procedures and three decades of experience, including over 70 OSHPD/HCAI projects, he excels in building strong collaborative teams that deliver successful outcomes in this specialized market sector.

Originally from Santa Ynez, California, Jason holds a BS degree in Biochemistry from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and is a certified OSHPD Class A Hospital Inspector. He is also a member of the American Society of Healthcare Engineers.

Chris Grossnicklaus is Healthcare Sector Leader and Director of Healthcare Planning for Corgan. He is responsible for establishing long-lasting relationships with clients and partners as well as leading Corgan’s healthcare studios across the country. He has deep experience in all phases of project work, from concept visioning and development through final construction documents on a wide range of project experience in the United States, Canada, and the Middle East.

Prior to his promotion to Healthcare Sector Leader, Chris served as Principal and Director of Business Development. Chris joined Corgan in 2017 and has gained the trust of and partnered with a variety of healthcare systems to develop impactful spaces for staff, patients, and their families. His strengths as a strategist and relationship builder make him an invaluable leader of the Corgan’s Healthcare Sector, overseeing projects for UT Southwestern Medical Center, Methodist Health System, OSF Healthcare, HCA Healthcare Behavioral Health Hospitals, Saint Francis Health System, Houston Methodist, the Mayo Clinic and UCLA Health.

Chris earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Master of Architecture from Texas A&M University and is Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. He served as chair of the communications committee for the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) of North Texas from 2019 to 2020; he received the Texas Society of Architects Associate Award and the AIA Dallas Associate Award for his contributions as editor of AIA Dallas Columns magazine.
