Melanie is responsible for the European Asset Management

team - a sector-specific team of around 30 investment

professionals.

Experience and qualifications

Prior to joining Aviva Investors, Melanie Collett was Head of Asset

Management at Round Hill Capital – responsible for the

establishing and on-going management of a Pan-Euro

management platform backed by a number of American Private

Equity Partners.

Prior to Round Hill, Melanie was Head of European Underwriting

for GE Capital Real Estate, where she was for 13 years.

Melanie joined GE Real Estate in 2003 as an Associate Director

within the Investment team, primarily responsible for growing the

equity investment business and in 2006, she was promoted to

Director level with the BD team, focussing on debt and equity

transactions.

Melanie was promoted to Head of Debt Restructuring in 2009,

focussing on the workout of a $2BN loan book in 5 jurisdictions in

Europe. In 2013 she was promoted to Head of European Debt

Asset Management, managing a $5BN loan book in Europe

including the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Switzerland. She

has over 20 years of valuable experience in Real Estate debt and

equity and is a qualified Chartered Surveyor with experience in

banking, private practice and direct acquisitions.

Ciara joined Bruntwood in 2005 commencing her career as an Asset Manager. Ciara provided strategic services while adding value to Bruntwoods Manchester City Centre portfolio. She worked on rent reviews, lease renewals and surrenders while also helping with the company’s 5 year business plan including any acquisitions.

In 2007 Ciara became a chartered surveyor and started a new team for Bruntwood where she became Head of Customer Retention across all the regional cities. In 2013 Ciara became Head of Asset Management for Manchester leading on a portfolio with a value of £450m which involved Acquisition and Disposal work including the prestigious sale of City Tower for £132m and acquisition of a number of key city centre assets including Bruntwood’s new HQ Union.

Most recently Ciara was appointed as the Director of Asset Management looking across the Bruntwood Group. She is working on upskilling the asset management team and supporting them in their development while also driving value across the portfolio and overseeing strategic plans.

He is responsible for setting the investment strategy across the fund range as well as overseeing the development of new products. He has over 20 years research and investment strategy experience in the UK and Continental Europe. Prior to this, he was Global Head of Research at Patrizia AG and a partner at Rockspring PIM prior to its acquisition by Patrizia. He has also worked at Goldman Sachs in the Property Derivatives team and at AEW, where he was Head of its London research operation. Jose began his career in 2000 as a general economist at Deutsche Bank and moved into the real estate division in 2002. José holds a Masters of Real Estate Investment from Cass Business School, a Masters in Quantitative Economics from Université Catholique de Louvain and a Bachelors degree from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.

Jay has 17 years’ experience leading complex development projects in central London across residential, office, hotel, cultural and retail sectors. He currently leads Native Land’s £2bn landmark Bankside Yard’s project and 105 Judd Street, King’s Cross. Before this he led planning and joint venture aspects of Burlington Gate, Mayfair. He has also spent significant time in the Asia Pacific region building and maintaining Native Land’s Joint Venture relationships.

Jay holds a MA (Oxon) in History & Economics from the University of Oxford and a MSc in Real Estate Investment & Finance from the University of Reading and is a Chartered Surveyor. In 2020 he was nominated by Property Week as their Young Property Personality of the Year. He joined the Native Land Board in 2021.

Claire joined Stanhope in September 2018 from Grosvenor Britain & Ireland where lead the Asset

Management team for the Belgravia portfolio. There she was accountable for delivering the long term

strategy to create distinctive and vibrant neighbourhoods which attract footfall, spend and offer

prosperity to their tenants. Having moved around the Grosvenor business over ten years, and setting

up the London Estate investment team, she has stakeholder management expertise, strategic

planning experience, major change credentials and can point to significant operational success

heading a £1bn business.

Claire leads the Asset Management team at Stanhope, a portfolio of just under 3 million sq ft and

£2.5bn of assets under management. Most notably, Claire has focused on the recently transformed

White City area to deliver the strategic vision and further build on the areas commercial success and

established reputation as a vibrant, innovative and creative part of London.

Claire is a member of Real Estate Balance and a Mentor for Stanhope initiative Mentoring Circle.

Yohance joined Quadrant’s office team in 2020 to help deliver c.500,000 sq. ft of offices in London. Key projects include 30 South Colonnade and Plot A Nine Elms.

Yohance studied and worked in architecture on commercial projects in the UK and luxury residential abroad before joining CBRE in 2014. Yohance spent a year in investment valuations before joining CBRE’s Capital Advisors. There he was a non-discretionary advisor working debt and equity investment strategies focusing on development. This included fund structuring, investment management, strategic development management, asset repositioning and development finance.

Outside of his professional role Yohance is an honorary lecturer at UCL’s Bartlett School of Planning and a visiting research fellow in the economics department of Goldsmiths University. He also holds academic and committee roles at The ULI, RICS and UCEM. In November 2020 he was recognised by the British Council for Offices as a Rising Star in the industry.

Matt Coulson is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Chiswick Park Enjoy-Work. He is responsible to

lead and develop the business strategy for the 1.8 million sq ft office development in Chiswick, W4,

managed by property management company Enjoy-Work.

Matt joined Chiswick Park Enjoy-Work as Operations Director in 2014. Prior to this, he was part of

the team developing and opening Center Parcs Woburn Forest for 3yrs. He also worked for eight

years at David Lloyd Clubs. Fitness enthusiast, Matt Coulson studied Sports Science at Liverpool John

Mores University and is a professional personal trainer by trade.

Phillipa is a Partner and the Global Director of Sustainability at AESG, a Specialist Consultancy, Engineering and Advisory firm headquartered in London, Singapore, and Dubai, working on projects throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Phillipa’s career has spanned both the UK and Middle Eastern markets, having led some of the firms most challenging sustainable development projects she has also gained extensive experience providing strategic advice to both the public and private sector.

Most notably, her work has included the development of an Energy and Water Rating System for the existing building market in Dubai, an incentive initiated by the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy to stimulate the retrofit market and to improve efficiency of the existing building stock within the Emirate, and the development of Net Zero Carbon roadmaps for the NHS, supporting they’re efforts to achieve Net Zero Carbon status by 2040.

Phillipa has been recognized for her achievements within the sustainability sector, and was awarded Sustainability Manager of the Year at the ADSG Business Leadership Awards in 2018.

Joanna has over twenty-five years’ experience in Property Research & Strategy at a global, European and UK-only level. Prior to Canada Life, she worked as an Associate Director in DTZ’s Global Forecasting & Research team, and has gained experience at major global property fund managers such as AXA Real Estate, LaSalle Investment Management and Invesco, as well as Cushman & Wakefield’s European Research team, where she was a European retail analyst.

Joanna holds an MSc in Real Estate Investment from Cass Business School, City University London and a BA (Hons) from Manchester University. She also speaks Spanish, German and French, as well as her native English.

She is a committee member of the Society of Property Researchers, organising regular industry events and is a member of the Investment Property Forum. As Head of Environmental Sustainability, Matt leads the environmental performance of British Land's standing portfolio and development pipeline, responsible for implementing our pathway to net zero carbon by 2030 and wider environmental sustainability agenda. Matt works across the business to ensure our assets are designed, built and operated to the highest environmental standards. Matt led British Land to a 55% reduction in its operational energy intensity achieved in 2019. He has held various roles across the business, including establishing our approach to wellbeing and most recently developing and implementing our approach to smart buildings and digital placemaking. Recent development projects include the delivery of British Land's first net zero development at 100 Liverpool Street and leading sustainability at Canada Water - a 53 acre mixed use regeneration project.

Prior to joining British Land, Matt held various sustainability consulting and banking roles. Matt has a Master's degree from Forum for the Future.

Tom is Head of Occupier Solutions UK and has been with BNP Paribas Real Estate for a combined period of ten years. The Occupier Solutions team deliver the full service offering across portfolio management, occupier strategy, occupier capital markets, workplace strategy and tenant representation, supporting corporates with driving real estate decision making to maximise positive impact on their ESG agenda as well as business balance sheet and P&L.

Tom has been pivotal in assuring cohesion and management between BNP Paribas, BNP Paribas Real Estate and Strutt & Parker’s shared clients. Tom also sits on the BNP Paribas Real Estate Commercial Exec across all of the BNPPRE UK commercial businesses and oversees all EMEA frameworks for corporates.

Before returning to the BNPPRE, Tom lived in Hong Kong for seven years supporting occupiers across APAC.
