Heiko joined Moorfield in 2013 and is Head of Operational Asset Management. As such, he is principally responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of our investments, particularly those in the Hospitality, Build To Rent and Student Accommodation sectors. Heiko has brought Moorfield over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having previously managed Guoman & Thistle Hotels as Managing Director, Paramount Hotels as Chief Operating Officer and Marriott Hotels as Operations Director for their regional hotel estate. Heiko now focusses on applying the skills and expertise he learnt in the hospitality industry to our operational assets.

Heiko was educated and trained in Bonn, Germany and is fluent in German and English. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality and has advised as a Board Director of the British Hospitality Association and as a Board Director of Springboard UK, a charity that promotes employment opportunities for young and disadvantaged people in the hospitality industry.

Rick is focused on growing Get Living’s platform across the UK through creating new build to rent neighbourhoods that are changing the way we live and rent in cities.

Rick has 40 years’ experience in development and investment in both the residential and commercial sectors, with a particular interest in regeneration and design. Prior to Get Living, Rick was CEO of United House Group and prior to that, CEO of MEPC.

Rick is Non-Executive Chairman of Miller Developments, Non-Executive Director of Altitude Real Estate, Non-Executive Director of Curo Housing Association and Chairman of the Kinetic Foundation Charity.

Sadie joined Moorfield in 2007 and sits on the Main Board as Chief Legal & Corporate Development Officer. She is responsible for overseeing various areas of the business including strategic partnerships, legal and ESG as well as working closely with the Co-CEOs to support product creation and fundraising strategies.

Sadie has an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and a post graduate degree in Law. Prior to joining Moorfield, Sadie worked in the Private Equity group at Clifford Chance where she advised international private equity clients on acquisitions, disposals, MBOs and listings.

Sadie has advised on the BPF Healthcare Committee and Retirement Villages working group.

James Saunders was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Quintain in October 2019 and since then

has led the company through the Pandemic, during which Quintain achieved the biggest

construction completion year in its 30-year history.

Starting with just 141 apartments for rent in 2016, James has led the team to reach 3,651 homes

under management, noting the 2022 year-end occupancy across the entire rental portfolio sat at

over 98%. Since then, Quintain’s tenth build to rent development has opened at Wembley Park.

James was previously Chief Operating Officer of Quintain and has been a main board director since

2017. As Chief Operating Officer, James led the place-making and estate management at Wembley

Park, commercial partnerships, group marketing, IT and health and safety.

During his time at Quintain, James has led the repositioning of Wembley Park from an event

destination to an exciting new neighbourhood for London. He has created the strategic direction for

marketing, communications and place making that has led to dramatic reconsideration of the area,

increase in footfall, improvements in press coverage and word-of-mouth, plus new partnerships

including with Boxpark, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Troubadour Theatres and Second Floor

Studios.

He has managed key stakeholder and commercial partner relationships with GLA, London Borough

of Brent, Wembley Stadium, the FA, AEG and Realm. He was responsible for the renegotiation of

agreements with adjacent landowners that unlocked the Wembley Park site from a development

and operational perspective.

Prior to joining Quintain, James was the Chief Marketing Officer at The Cloud Networks, a consultant

to Vodafone Europe and Brand Director at Coca-Cola Great Britain. He holds a Sloan Masters from

London Business School, a Law Degree from Cambridge University and is a barrister-at-law.

John is Commercial Director for the Commercial Real Estate team at Aldermore. He is responsible for developing new propositions and enhancing the customer journey to meet growing demand. John has 30 years’ experience in the industry having previously worked in a number of national roles at Bank of Scotland, CYBG and NAB.

Iain leads a team of specialist Operational Living Consultants and Research Analysts at Bidwells, based

in its London office, with over 140 clients from the UK, Ireland and Spain. The team have worked on over

60k+ Rental Homes and Student Beds covering PBSA, Co-living, Build to Rent, Single Family

Housing/Rental, Later/Senior Living and Retirement.

Iain is considered a veteran of the Living sector adding it to his 38-year career. The past projects on his

CV are considerable, over £8bn of schools and hospitals in the PPP market as a Partner at G&T, the

Estates Rationalisation Project for HMNB Clyde (Faslane & Coulport), over 50 Care Homes both

Developed and Operated, and a strong background in FM including a term as Chair of the Professional

Institute for FM the now IWFM and Deputy Chair of Global FM.

Iain entered the Rental Living Sector over a decade ago founding LIV Consult, alongside Graham Bates,

and the LIV Group, before selling the business to Cortland in 2019. Bidwells acquired the Operational

Consultancy Team in April this year. The team are known for their knowledge leadership in Operational

Living and Iain is recognised as a subject leader and an accomplished speaker in the industry. He and

his team have delivered advice on over £6.2bn of assets.

Iain is Chair of the Association of Rental Living Scottish Hub, sits on their Strategic Group for the UK and

is a member of the Whole Life Cost Hub. Iain is also a mentor for the ULI.

Andy specialises in providing legal advice in relation to a wide variety of real estate projects.

He works for a wide range of accommodation providers and investors including developers, central government organisations, Registered Providers, local authorities, contractors, joint ventures, banks and private equity houses.

The accommodation projects in which Andy has been and is involved include build to rent, student housing, regeneration projects, affordable housing and key worker schemes.

Robert is the Fund Manager of the UK Private Rented Sector Fund and is also responsible for sourcing and delivering residential investment opportunities in the UK and Ireland for aPER, a pan-European residential fund. Robert sits on the AREF’s Residential Working and the British Property Federation Build to Rent London Engagement Group.

Robert has 21 years of experience, having joined abrdn in 2007, and has worked in the residential team since October 2016. Previously he was a Fund Manager for a Swedish corporate pension fund.

Robert graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Land Management from University of Reading. He is a qualified Chartered Surveyor (MRICS).

James is Head of Operational Real Estate at abrdn, the global fund manager with c. £25bn of property funds in the UK. With over 25 years industry experience and formerly Head of UK Transactions, James is leading abrdn’s growth in all areas of Operational Real Estate with a particular focus in the Living Sector. Building on the existing c. €10bn global Living business, a particular focus is developing a larger presence in the UK. James leads from the abrdn side on their vertically integrated PBSA platform, mys Living and the joint venture with John Lewis Partnership whose stated aim is to build a 10,000 unit residential business.

Harry is a development director at Oxford Properties – the real estate arm of OMERS, one of Canada’s largest Defined Benefit pension plans with approximately 500,000 active and retired members. Located in London with a pan-European focus, Harry’s work focusses on large and complex projects across multiple use classes. An advocate of sustainable, healthy and productive places, Harry is a chartered town planner and academician for the Academy of Urbanism.

Will oversees the London design studio and sits on our internal Design Review Panel, Strategic Board and also leads on Sustainability Strategy. He works closely with our sustainability and urban design teams to develop our approach to designing net-zero places and buildings.

Will has delivered several large-scale, complex residential-led projects, collaborating with diverse, multidisciplinary design teams. Often located on waterside sites, these have included Wardian London on the Isle of Dogs, Blackwall Yard in Tower Hamlets, and the Hollandbury House at the Brentford Project.

Outside of Howells, he is a member of the Architecture Club and New London Architecture, where he was a member of the Tall Buildings Panel in 2021/22.

With over 14 years Business Development experience, Muir is a highly renowned strategic expert with an exceptional knowledge of attributing technology installation and digitalisation to

business growth. Having led the charge for SmartRent’s UK portfolio development, he has worked on landmark projects like Kings Cross Station and the British Airways First Class Lounge, and has worked within PropTech and Intelligent Building Services. Leading

the Utopi UK and European Sales Team, he continues to be a prominent name in the UK Real Estate Industry.

Barry is a partner in Shoosmiths’ real estate division and has a broad spectrum of expertise in all areas of real estate work, with particular focus on the residential development and investment markets, including market leading work in the single- and multi-family BTR sectors. His experience includes the structuring and delivery of numerous core BTR funds, which have delivered several thousand BTR units across the UK. He acts for developers, landowners, funders and investors across the residential sector, with a key emphasis on complex development arrangements, including conditional contracts, option arrangements, joint ventures, leasing, property finance arrangements and lending, as well as tax efficient property structures and vehicles.

Shoosmiths was named ‘UK Law Firm of the Year – Large-Sized Firm’ at the British Legal Awards 2023.

Nigel has held numerous senior positions within the property and regeneration industry over a career spanning 30 years, including serving as special policy adviser to Sir Bob Kerslake at the HCA. He was chief executive officer of Chelsfield plc from 1992 to 2005 and executive chairman of Lend Lease Europe from 2005 to 2008, having joined the company through the joint acquisition of the residential developer Crosby.

Nigel is chairman of the Royal Shakespeare Company and the respected urban think tank Centre for Cities as well as chairing the Estates Strategy Committee of the London School of Economics.

Jamie is a qualified Chartered Surveyor and has over 20 years’ experience in real estate asset and operational management.

At Apache, Jamie is responsible for the successful deployment of all asset, portfolio and operational management strategies across its vertically integrated businesses of both multi and single-family Build to Rent. Additionally, Jamie chairs Apache’s monthly Health & Safety Committee and he is also a member of Apache’s Environmental Social Governance (ESG) committee where he is responsible for ensuring all asset and operational management is deployed in line with its ESG policies and guiding principles.

Prior to joining Apache in January 2014, Jamie worked at niche asset management practice, MJ Mapp, for a period of twelve years, leaving as a Director and member of the Business Development Board. During his time with the business, Jamie led the teams responsible for the management of portfolios owned by a range of institutions, funds and development companies as well as heading up the Private Client team which serviced high net worth individuals and family trusts. Jamie was responsible for the teams managing a diverse range of commercial, residential, industrial and alternative asset classes with a total capital value of c£1bn.

Freya joined Vertus, part of the Canary Wharf Group in 2019 following seven years at Knight Frank’s head office in London. Having started her career in residential leasehold management Freya then moved over to set up a new department within the residential division, focusing on management of residential portfolios. During this time, she set up all operational and letting functions of the business including the implementation of centralised lettings and property management systems, and subsequently oversaw the growth of the department into the build-to-rent sector, estates, and distressed portfolios. She worked with clients such as Greystar, Kennedy Wilson, Essential Living, Urbanest and A2 Dominion to launch and lease up buildings such as Pinnacle Tower, Exchange Gardens, Nin Elms Point and Camley Street.

Michael joined Chapman Taylor in 2016 to build the practice’s expertise in the residential sector. Appointed to the Group Board in 2025, he continues to play a leading role in shaping and expanding the practice’s residential and hospitality portfolios across the group.

He has designed and delivered a wide range of award-winning projects, with a particular focus on Build-to-Rent, student accommodation, hotels, serviced apartments, and modular construction.

Michael is a regular speaker at international property conferences where he articulates Chapman Taylor’s design approach and skill sets, offering thought leadership on future living trends and sector evolution. He also serves as a Commissioner on the Radix Big Tent Housing Commission, a cross-party think tank that advises the UK Government on housing policy and contributes practical, evidence-based recommendations to address systemic challenges in housing delivery.

He was nominated for a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Association for Rental Living (ARL) in recognition of his significant contributions to the Build-to-Rent sector. He also serves as a Special Design Advisor on the ARL Design Committee and is a RIBA-elected member of the Regional Council for RIBA North West.

Her work includes leading initiatives such as BTR Innovators that reflect NHBC’s commitment to sector excellence and collaborative growth.

Prior to NHBC, Niki held senior roles at Property Week, where she specialised in partnerships, campaign strategy and event development. She played a key role in shaping flagship residential property events including RESI and the RESI Awards, and led initiatives such as RESI Trailblazers and Joint Victories, designed to spotlight emerging talent and successful public-private collaboration.

Niki also served on the board of the NSPCC, where she helped raise awareness and funds for Childline through industry events –demonstrating her belief in the power of property to positively impact communities.

Jane joined Fresh Property Group as Chief Operating Officer in 2010 and has overall responsibility for the operational delivery of the business, overseeing the day-to-day running of the Fresh Student Living and Five Nine Brands. Jane has played an intrinsic part in the growth of Fresh Property Group and has overall responsibility for the management and

marketing of over 18,000 student beds across the UK and a team of over 300 staff.

Jane is an experienced student accommodation operator, having worked in the sector for over 15 years, working as Operations Manager at iQ from its inception. Before that, Jane worked in the Social Housing sector for over 15 years, leading teams providing supported housing, reactive and planned maintenance, leasehold management and general social housing.

Andy Doyle is a distinguished figure in the UK Tech scene following a reputable career across the UK, Australasia and Africa, including leading Mott MacDonald’s Global Digital Infrastructure consulting practice as Managing Director for over 10 years. Specialising in IoT, Digital Innovation and Asset Commercialisation, he is an expert in productising connectivity, which brought him to Utopi as our Chief Product Officer. Andy now leads the Product arm of Utopi and is spearheading our ESG development alongside our global expansion.

Mike is UK editor of Bisnow. Before this, alongside three friends he bought pan-European property mag EuroProperty out of non-existence and re established it before selling the business to PropertyEU. Prior to that he was editor of Property Week, and has also worked for Estates Gazette.

Jonathan is a Director in Aviva Investors’ European Real Assets Research and Strategy team, leading on both UK and Continental European real estate. He works across the capital stack; specifically on Aviva Investors’ fund and JV equity investments, as well as on our real estate debt and long income mandates. As part of his role, he manages the inputs and outputs to Aviva Investors’ proprietary models, which help form an independent house view on the relative attractiveness of potential opportunities. Not long ago, Jonathan was an interim voting member on the Real Estate IC and remains part of the senior team that challenge and give guidance on investment and portfolio construction decision-making Jonathan has also led recent thematic research efforts into emerging sectors like Single Family Residential, Senior Rental and Self-Storage. After his research into SFR, he remained very close to the execution of Aviva Investors’ investment strategy. In the last 18 months, we have committed to over £600mil worth of Single Family Rental deals; with the majority of the portfolio weighted towards the South-East. Ed is the CEO of Packaged Living, a leading developer and operator of sustainable rental living communities in the UK. Having launched the business in 2018, Ed has subsequently led its growth to over 5,500 homes (c.£1.75bn GDV), either in development or operational across the UK in under 6 years.

Prior to Packaged Living, Ed was a director at Grainger Plc initially focussed on financing and growing the groups German Residential and UK Retirement Living platforms and more latterly, leading its investment into the Build to Rent sector. Ed is a chartered banker with c.20 years’ cross border real estate experience in banking, private equity and fund management having worked previously at the Bank of Scotland and Lloyds Banking Group.

A former Lombard Scholar and Freeman of London, Ed also holds an executive MBA from Regensburg University in Germany. Ed is a member of the AREF Residential Committee, guest lecturer at the London Institute of Banking and Finance and former Chair of the WCIB (Banking Guild) Associates Committee.

Jamie joined Thriving Investments in May 2023 to manage Picture Living, the 1,700 home+ private-rented residential portfolio, and to develop new fund strategies. With over 25 years of real estate investment experience, Jamie was formerly the Head of UK & IE Transactions for PATRIZIA and has held other senior roles at Rockspring, GE Capital and Invesco. Jamie is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyorsa member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Imogen is Head of UK Funds in Real Estate Equity as part of the Aviva Investors

Real Assets platform. Her role focuses on strategic growth and investment

performance across the UK Funds, leading a team of Fund Managers managing

~£10bn of AUM.

Experience and qualifications

Imogen was previously Fund Manager for the Heritage Unit Linked Funds and the

AIPL Property Fund. She joined Aviva Investors from Legal and General Investment

Management where she was the Senior Asset Manager for LGIM’s long income

property funds. Prior to LGIM, Imogen has property investment experience at Lloyds

Bank, Mapeley Estates and consultancy DTZ.

Imogen holds a BA (Hons) in Geography from the University of Leeds and an MA in

Property Investment and Development from Nottingham Trent University. She is a

member of the Investment Property Forum, the Royal Institute of Chartered

Surveyors (RICS) and sits on the AREF ESG & Impact Investing Committee.

Sandra is the UK Managing Director of PriceHubble, which incorporates Dataloft Rental Market Analytics (since Dataloft’s acquisition in 2023). PriceHubble is a global technology and property data group that builds innovative digital solutions for the financial and real estate industries based on property valuations and market insights.

Paul has over 16 years of experience in the residential property sector and has specialised in institutional PRS & BTR since 2014. As the previous MD of Dandara Living, where he launched a c. 3,000 MFH platform and developed a 5,000-home pipeline, and former Head of Northern Lettings at Grainger Plc, Paul brings a wealth of BTR experience to Ascend as its illustrious leader.

Jon leads the Real Estate Investment Team at Knights having joined the Company in 2015 and has extensive experience of dealing with the acquisition of high-value property portfolios.

His experience includes acting for Developers in the acquisition of sites and advising on the setting up of developments for unit sales and he now acts primarily for one of the largest investment managers in the UK, with a particular focus on the single family housing sector.

As a diligent, dedicated and initiative-taking collaborator, Sunny has consistently demonstrated a high degree of versatility, supported by a career in construction and real estate which goes back over a two decades. Working his way up from being a trade operative in construction, working on complex projects across the UK to a Senior Projects Director in real estate development and investment, delivering over £400m GDV on the Paradise Birmingham development on behalf of Argent LLP.

Thomasin Renshaw is a Managing Director and leads the UK Development and Construction teams.

Thomasin leads the development strategy and execution of all BTR and PBSA developments across the UK. This includes Pearl Yard in Bermondsey and One Medlock Street in Manchester.

Before joining Greystar, Thomasin served as Chief Development Officer at Pocket Living, Director of Development (Head of South Molton Triangle) at Grosvenor Britain & Ireland and Development Director at Muse. She has over 20 years of experience leading complex residential and mixed-use regeneration projects across London and the UK.

Thomasin holds a Bachelor of Science in Astrophysics from University College London and a Master of Science in Surveying from the University of Reading. She is a Fellow of RICS (Planning and Development).

Michael Herrington joined Related Argent in April 2022 as the Managing Director of Residential Operations. Prior to this, he was Senior Vice President for Related Management Company overseeing a portfolio of 35 luxury rental and condominium buildings with over 10,500 units located in New York City, Boston, Chicago and the District of Columbia. A property management professional with over 20 years’ experience, Michael also served as the Director of Business Operations for Related Management Company, overseeing the induction of more than 30 sites into a newly established property management company. A graduate of Stephen F Austin State University, Michael is a Certified Property Manager and an accredited member of Institute of Real Estate Management. He is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York and the Bronx/Manhattan Board of Realtors. Prior to joining Related Management, he was an Executive Director with Brookdale Living Communities in Raleigh, NC.

With eight years’ experience in the commercial furniture sector, Rosie brings a unique blend of expertise across residential and bespoke product design — with a focus on Living sector developments. As a Consultant Manager within the TFP Living division at The Furniture Practice, she leads the delivery of large-scale, sustainability-focused FF&E projects , taking a consultative and client-first approach.

Rosie has a deep understanding of the diverse requirements across the Living sectors. She stays closely connected to emerging design trends shaped by innovation and sustainability, enabling her to develop tailored furniture solutions that meet the needs of forward-thinking developers across the UK.

Phillippa is a leading wellbeing expert. She brings a global perspective derived from research and

projects undertaken in the UK, USA, Middle East, and worldwide. She specialises in the early-stage

development, design, and operation of wellbeing and fitness amenity spaces within the residential

property sector.

Phillippa founded Educated Body in 2001. Educated Body is widely acknowledged as the market

leader in residential real estate health fitness and wellbeing, for its specialist knowledge of

operational design and current and future wellbeing trends.

Ashley Dewar is a partner in DAC Beachcroft's Real Estate team, specialising in residential development, including build to rent. He has experience of advising large national housebuilders, investors and specialist developers; working in environments that include large new estates, garden villages, town centres and urban regeneration.

Alastair joined CWG in 2018, to establish the group’s Build-to-Rent platform, Vertus. He currently oversees Vertus’s day-to day activities, the groups residential leasehold management arm, Canary Wharf Residential Management Limited, and the groups Technology & Transformation function.

Prior to this he spent nine years with Hamptons International & Countrywide Group based in London and Hong Kong. In his final role at Countrywide as National Director of Corporate PRS & BTR, he oversaw the successful delivery of the group’s operational management platform which included the delivery of The Cargo Building, Liverpool and Pomona Wharf, Manchester.

Having worked within IT and telecoms for over 20 years, Jon has considerable technical expertise alongside clear commercial, legal, and operational understanding. With extensive experience in the ISP sector, Jon’s role largely focuses on ASK4's international expansion, adapting and delivering the ASK4 experience in different cultures and contexts.

Andrew specialises in Build to Rent and structured finance and joined BNP Paribas Real Estate UK in 2022 to head up Residential Capital Markets. Prior to joining BNP Paribas Real Estate UK, he was Head of Investment in the UK for Cortland, a US Multifamily investment firm.

Andrew has a background in merchant banking, property development, investment and structured finance and was instrumental in rolling out Cortland’s £4bn Build to Rent development and investment platform in the UK. He has over 20 years’ experience in residential development and investment and was a pioneer in Build to Rent, Forward Funding, Development, Joint Ventures and Investment.

Andrew is highly regarded for his deal making successes as well as an expert Build to Rent commentator, regular speaker, chair and moderator at conferences across Europe. Andrew’s career spans quantity surveying, banking, property development, investment and agency (GVA & CBRE).

Jules Pipe is working on key priorities for the Mayor, including: implementation of the London Plan, major and community-led regeneration projects across the capital, building a skills system that properly addresses the needs of Londoners and the economy, and ensuring London’s infrastructure supports good growth, meets the needs of London’s communities and makes London a cleaner, greener and smarter City.

Jules has unrivalled knowledge of London government, becoming the first directly elected mayor of Hackney in 2002 and serving as Chair of London Councils from 2010 until he joined the Mayor’s team in 2016.

Deborah is the founder of Spread Urban Concepts,

where architects, landscape designers and engineers

create liveable and sustainable neighbourhoods in

city centers as well as in small towns and rural areas.

Deborah collaborates with both Senate Department

for Urban Development and the private sector,

enabling her to generate more efficiency into

developments.

Deborah is also part of the team planning the

International Building Exhibition in Berlin (IBA’34)

which aims to integrate future city planning ideas to

address the affordable housing crisis in metropolitan

areas today.
