New Developments East of Downtown + Reconfigure Freeway Plan!

THIS EVENT ENDED ON September 27th, 2016

Hosted at: The Cheek-Neal Coffee Building

The Cheek-Neal Coffee Building

Denenburg

The Cheek-Neal Coffee Company Building is located at 2017 Preston in the heart of EaDo, directly off of Hwy 59. It was designed by noted Houston architect Joseph Finger and built in 1917 for the growing Cheek-Neal Coffee Company, which eventually became the famous Maxwell House coffee brand. Located between Minute Maid Park and Dynamo Stadium, and one block from the METRORail and Park & Ride, it offers immediate access to all major freeways. The building recently received protected landmark status and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It is a 55,000 SF (10,500 SF/floor) five-story, "solid" brick and reinforced concrete structure, with striking original, over-sized steel windows. This re-purposed building will feature restaurants/retail, on-site management, state-of-the-art new building HVAC/electrical systems, tenant conference facilities, B-cycle station and outdoor showers. The rooftop's outdoor terrace and bar will feature unparalleled 360-degree views of Houston. After lying vacant and abandoned for so long, she'll be back in business in 2017, and ready to celebrate her centennial!
