The Downtown Denver Partnership announced Kourtny

Garrett as its President and CEO in January 2022. Garrett

joined the Partnership from Downtown Dallas, Inc. (DDI),

where she served as President and CEO for nearly seven

years.

With 25 years of experience in developing livable

communities, Garrett is fueled by her passion for cities. Her

expertise is rooted in building social, cultural and economic vibrancy, creating places for

people that provide access and opportunity for all. Garrett has expanded her work

nationally and internationally through research and participation in the International

Downtown Association, German Marshall Foundation, Brookings Institute and the

International Business of Cities. She has published through many of these

organizations, working toward the health and vitality of city centers across the globe.

Garrett is proud to sit on the Board of Directors of VISIT DENVER and the CAP

Advisory Board of the CU Denver College of Architecture and Planning.

Matt Ball

Matt Ball is an award-winning attorney and decorated military veteran. He most recently worked at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, where he was recognized as an "Up and Coming Lawyer" by Law Week Colorado for his appellate litigation practice and pro bono work with indigent criminal defense.

Earlier in his career, he served as an Army Ranger, deployed four times, and received two Bronze Star Medals. Ball is a Tillman Scholar recipient and has been nationally recognized for his work bringing Afghan refugees to the United States. A fourth-generation Coloradan, Matt lives with his wife and three children in Capitol Hill.

As Director of Policy, Ball is a key member of the senior leadership team and is focused on shaping the City's policy landscape.

Deborah Cameron

Deborah Cameron leads OED’s business attraction and retention efforts, directing efforts across the business development, global business, and workforce development teams. She oversees a group of approximately 40 staff focused on growing and sustaining Denver businesses. Filled for the first time with Cameron’s hiring in June 2018, this role is designed to improve and maximize the city’s investments in business retention, expansion and workforce development. With staff recruitment identified as one of the top challenges facing employers, OED has more closely aligned its business and workforce development functions. In addition, the role oversees a global business team, focused on increased trade and partnership opportunities for Denver businesses. Cameron is an economic development professional with nearly 20 years of experience working at the state, regional, utility and local level. Prior to joining OED, she built and marketed the aerospace cluster in South Carolina for the South Carolina Council on Competitiveness, led business attraction efforts for the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, retained and attracted businesses for the Tennessee Valley Authority, and increased economic development in rural distressed areas of east Tennessee for the Douglas Cherokee Economic Authority. Cameron began her economic development career with the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development. She holds an MBA from Johns Hopkins University and an undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.

Paul Mitchell is Senior Vice President of Asset Management at Brookfield Properties,

who develops and operates high-quality, sustainability-focused real estate investments

on behalf of Brookfield Asset Management — one of the largest alternative asset

managers in the world. Paul has been with the company for over 15 years and oversees

a 5-million square foot portfolio in downtown Denver, comprised of five office towers. He

manages leasing strategy and negotiations, works closely with joint venture partners,

and directs property operations on strategic initiatives.

Paul received his Bachelor’s degree from Herberger School of Business at St. Cloud

State University in Minnesota, majoring in Business Management and minoring in Real

Estate.  He remains active in the local alumni association and serves as a mentor for

real estate undergrads. He recently relocated from Minneapolis to Denver in 2020 with

his wife and two young boys.

Janessa Biller

Janessa is responsible for helping Tenants with all aspects of their occupancy needs and strategy.

Prior to working at JLL, Janessa spent 10 years living in New York City and working on Wall Street. She started her career at Goldman Sachs, spending time in both Operations and Client Services working with Hedge Funds and Private Equity Firms. She then went on to work at Dynasty Financial Partners where she helped Financial Advisors with all aspects of starting and running their businesses. This is where she got her start in Commercial Real Estate as she helped her clients manage all aspects of their real estate.

A Denver Native, Janessa joined JLL upon her return to Denver in 2018. She won the CREW Rising Leader award in 2019. With a strong financial services background, she helps her clients with financial reviews, negotiations, and creative problem solving.

Janessa attended New York University and received a Bachelor of Arts in Policy Economics and Romance Languages. Janessa also later attended New York University Stern School of Business for her Master’s of Business Administration with a specialization in Finance, Marketing and Management.

In her free time, Janessa spends time outdoors hiking, running, snowshoeing, skiing (both downhill and cross country!), golfing, tennis, and gardening.

Ryan Link is a Senior Vice President with CBRE's Occupier Advisory & Transaction Services group and the Tech Media Practice Group, where he and his team specialize in office tenant representation in Metro Denver and nationally for their portfolio clients. Since joining CBRE in June of 2013, Ryan has already executed in excess of 5 million square feet of lease and sale transactions. In just a short time, Ryan has established himself as one of the preeminent tenant advisors in Colorado and has worked on some of the largest transactions on behalf of occupiers, both locally and nationally. Serving as his clients advisor and advocate, Ryan provides customized and creative solutions that align with his client's business, financial and operational objectives.

Ryan grew up in Colorado and attended Cherry Creek High School where he graduated in 2008. He played Division One Men’s Lacrosse at Penn State where he was a 4-year letter winner and was their team captain in 2012. Ryan won the George Pittenger Award for leadership during his senior season. Ryan is currently the youngest producer in CBRE Colorado to hold the title Senior Vice President.

Eric Wiebers serves as the Managing Partner of Interior Environments, a company specializing in designing commercial furniture and architectural solutions with a human-centric focus. Since joining Interior Environments in January 2020 and relocating to Denver, he has played a pivotal role in expanding the company's presence into Boise, ID, and Atlanta, GA, in addition to their existing offices in Denver, CO, and Novi, MI, thereby establishing a national reach to better serve their clients.

As the leader of Interior Environments' offices in Denver, Atlanta, and Boise, Eric gains valuable insights into evolving client needs and emerging opportunities within the commercial space. Notably, under his leadership, the Denver branch has experienced a remarkable 75% increase in revenue compared to the previous year. Simultaneously, the Novi, MI office, where the company was founded, is also achieving its most successful year to date.

Before joining Interior Environments, Eric Wiebers amassed seven years of experience at Allsteel, a prominent office furniture manufacturer. During his tenure there he held various sales positions, culminating in his role as the Director of Sales for the West.

Craig Shelby

Craig Shelby is the Territory Sales Manager and National Key Accounts Manager at Building Engineering Consultants Inc. (BECI) who manages business development for the Western region of the U.S. for one of the largest building envelope consulting firms in the United States. In the last twenty years, Craig has been involved in a variety of capacities with commercial buildings. In his role with BECI, Craig stays involved with Building Developers, Investors, Architects, General Contractors, Facility Managers and Condominium Association Managers. Craig received his bachelor’s degree from Davenport School of Business at Davenport University in Michigan, majoring in Business Management and minoring in Advertising. He is active in local Industry associations such as AIA, IBEC, IMEG, IFMA, and CAI along with others and serves as a mentor for territory sales managers at BECI. He recently relocated from Los Angeles to Denver in 2019 with his wife. When not in the office, Craig is active climbing a different mountain nearly each week as well as volunteering for trail improvement groups and as a back country field volunteer for Pika monitoring under the University of Colorado and Denver Zoo.

Maria Oxman is an associate in the Real Estate Group at Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP. She focuses her practice on real estate law and has broad experience representing investors, developers, and large companies throughout the U.S. in a variety of real estate matters, including large scale renewable energy projects, leasing, acquisition, dispositions, and hospitality. Ms. Oxman’s expertise also involves assisting clients with the acquisition and management of real estate in connection with complex mergers and acquisitions.

Ms. Oxman holds two law degrees and is admitted to practice law in Colorado and Guatemala. While earning her J.D. at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, she interned at the Colorado Supreme Court. Since 2021, Ms. Oxman has been named among the “Ones to Watch” in the area of Real Estate Law by Best Lawyers, an annual guide by publisher Woodward/White Inc. In recognition of her achievements and potential, she has also been included as one of Colorado’s “Up and Coming Lawyers” for 2019 by Law Week Colorado.

Sandi Rudy is an Associate at Cushing Terrell and the Regional Interior Design lead in the firm’s Austin office. She has worked with some of the world’s largest companies including Google, Facebook, Dell, and Apple, supporting their future-looking workplace designs for the past 16 years. Her passion for the human impact of the designed environment has influenced her thoughtful, sustainably-minded approach to Interior Design and shaped interactions with owners and occupants. This passion extends beyond her work to not only mentoring and guiding coworkers, but also to educating the next generation of designers as a Lecturer in the Interior Design program at Texas State University.
