Haroun Cowans is a prominent social, financial, and philanthropic leader with over two decades

of experience leading development and investment in the Five Points District of Denver,

Colorado. Haroun is responsible for Goshen Development’s operations, client relations,

partnerships, business development, and strategic leadership. He has held many leadership

positions in real estate and finance but considers his greatest passion his work as an associate

pastor at Church in the City – Beth Abraham. Outside of ministry, Haroun is the Founder and

Managing Principal of Goshen Development. Haroun has built strong relationships to the Five

Points and greater Denver community through his extensive work and board appointments.

Throughout his career, Haroun has held many different positions in real-estate and finance

including managing retail financial branches, raising capital for startups, financial advising,

financial services at Merrill Lynch, Chief Real Estate Officer and commercial real estate broker.

Haroun has been appointed by the Mayor to serve on the Denver Board of Human Services and

the Advisory Committee for Housing People Experiencing Homelessness. He is a board member

of the following organizations: Colorado Enterprise Fund, Five Points Business Improvement

District, Historic Denver, Denver Health Foundation, Denver African American Philanthropists

(co-chair), and Black Resilience in Colorado. He has previously served on the boards of Denver

East YMCA, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance and Youth Biz (chair).

Notably, Haroun has been featured in the Denver Post, Denver Channel 7 News, Denver

Channel 9 News, 303 Magazine, Westword, Business Den and has been cover stories for Denver

Business Journal, Denver Rite and Vice Magazine.

As a Principal at Westside Investment Partners, Mark utilizes his expertise in both real estate development /

construction and public / private finance to successfully execute projects throughout the Denver metro area. His

ability to build strong relationships with local communities to find collaborative solutions has been critical to the

success of projects like the redevelopment of the historic 70-acre Loretto Heights campus. This project, which Mark

led on, was envisioned through a community-driven area planning process. The resulting vision celebrates the

incredible past and focuses limelight on the next great chapter for Loretto Heights. This development provides

significant community benefits such as open space and affordable housing while preserving the site’s historic nature

as a place within Southwest Denver.

As part of his work on Loretto Heights, Mark often presented at local RNO meetings and the Denver School of

Science and Technology and encouraged all community members to share their vision for the future of the project.

He also volunteers for Food for Thought which provides weekend food for kids in the Loretto Heights area. In addition

to his work at Westside Investment, Mark has acted as a dedicated mentor for the NAIOP Commercial Real Estate

Association and for students at the University of Colorado.

Mark has previously worked for McWhinney Real Estate Company as a Senior Vice President, Corporex Colorado,

LLC as Managing Director, and Silverman Development as Senior Vice President, where he cultivated his real estate

development skills in financing, deal-making, and negotiating contracts. In Mark’s nearly 30-year career, his ground-

up development experience totals more than $500 million. A few of his notable projects include the $200 million Dairy

Block in Denver, the ART Hotel in Downtown Denver which was just ranked one of the top 25 hotels in the world, and

the Hyatt Hotel and Conference Center at Fitzsimons Village in Aurora.

Mark graduated Cum Laude from Michigan Technological University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.

He received his master’s degree from Kettering University.  Mark resides in Douglas County with his wife, Monica,

and four daughters and they enjoy doing anything outdoors.  Mark’s hobbies include competing in triathlons, watching

hockey, and spending time with his family.

Professionally, Matt Teeters works as the Regional President of the Front Range for Alpine Bank. In this

role, Matt’s responsible for all loan and deposit operations for the bank’s locations in Fort Collins,

Boulder, Denver, and Colorado Springs. Personally, Matt’s a Colorado native and was born and raised in

Denver. He attended Cherry Creek High School and from there, went on to Grinnell College, earning a

bachelor’s degree in Economics. He completed his MBA from the University of Denver in 2013. In

addition for working for Alpine Bank, Matt also serves as the board Chair for Roundup River Ranch, the

Board Treasurer for Judi’s House, The Sonoran Institute, and Developmental FX, and serves as a board

member for The Colorado Open Golf Foundation, and the Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce’s Board

of Governors. As an acknowledgement for the leadership displayed with these organizations, Teeters was

selected as one of ColoradoBiz Magazines Top 25 Young Professionals in 2016. Personally, Matt was

married to Sarah in July 2017, has a 4-year-old daughter named Charlie and a 1.5-year-old named Dean.

Lastly, his hobbies include golfing, mountain biking, skiing, and spending time outdoors.

Timothy Foster came to Salt Lake after 15 years of construction in the greater bay area and surrounding northern California. Upon his arrival to Makers Line in 2019 as the COO, the company began to experience rapid growth, and he was promoted to President in 2021 to spearhead efforts to scale and transform the company into what it is today. With one of the most brilliant minds the construction industry has seen, Timothy has led Makers Line to attracting and hiring some of the best talent in the business, creating an effective team of experts eager to take on new projects and "rethink the business of building". He continues to provide significant impact through strategic and tactical direction and is highly experienced in leading multidisciplinary teams with a proven track record of success. Tim is the driving force behind Makers Line’s values, which prioritize maintaining a strong connection with the community, preserving ethical standards, utilizing a non-traditional approach to construction, and promoting transparency in all operations.

Jeffrey Stonger is a partner and serves as the Chief Investment Officer at BMC Investments. Mr. Stonger leads the investment process, overseeing acquisitions and strategic growth initiatives in order to grow and scale the company into new markets and strategies. Prior to BMC Investments, Jeffrey spent several years at Ascentris, a Denver-based real estate private equity firm with nearly $2.5 billion in assets under management, where he was responsible for leading strategic initiatives, as well as acquiring and managing investments across property types in the Western US. Prior to his role at Ascentris, Mr. Stonger was a Managing Director at Amstar, a real estate private equity firm, where he spent 10 years serving in multiple roles across both the U.S. and European investment platforms, and was responsible for sourcing and acquisitions, asset management and capital raising. Notably, Mr. Stonger helped the firm establish Amstar Advisers (which later became Ascentris) as an SEC-Registered Investment Adviser; the firm has since raised over $1 billion of equity from U.S. institutional investors. Stonger graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California with a B.S. in Business and Real Estate Finance. He also graduated from Harvard Business School (PLDA) with a concentration in General Management and Leadership and is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charterholder. Stonger previously served four years on the Portfolio Management Committee with the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries. He currently serves as a Board Trustee for MindsMatter Denver.

Patrick "Pat" Blasdell is a Managing Director and Co-Head of Bow River Capital’s Real Estate Group. Pat is responsible for the strategic direction and initiatives of the Real Estate team, including directing investment activities, managing Bow River Capital’s discretionary funds and sourcing strategic relationships. Additionally, he is a member of the Real Estate Investment Committee and the firm’s Management Committee.

Prior to joining Bow River Capital, Pat was a Managing Partner at Stream Realty Partners, a national full- service commercial real estate firm. During his 13 years with Stream, Pat was responsible for the formation and growth of the company’s Capital Markets Group, as well as the creation of their Denver office. Additionally, Pat sat on the Investment Committee for Stream’s discretionary LP Equity Funds. Pat earned a BBA in Real Estate Finance and a B.A. in Anthropology from Southern Methodist University.

Dr. Mueller has 46 years of real estate industry experience, including 39 years of research. Mueller is internationally

known for his Market Cycle research on income producing real estate, his real estate securities analysis (REITs)

research and his public and private market investment strategies and capital markets analysis.

Kimberly Schmitz, Senior Director, is responsible for originating commercial financing opportunities for clients nationwide and is based out of Walker & Dunlop’s New York office. Ms. Schmitz is responsible for originating floating rate first mortgage and mezzanine loans as well as fixed rate CMBS loans, for all real estate asset types. Additionally, she provides Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and HUD financing opportunities. Since joining Walker & Dunlop in 2014, she has orchestrated over $800 million of loans, including $400 million of high yield loans and $280 million of CMBS loans.

Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Ms. Schmitz served as vice president at Rockwood Real Estate Advisors, where she specialized in real estate debt and equity underwriting,portfolio and asset management, property dispositions, and real estate advisory services. Ms. Schmitz began her career at Rockwood focusing on the hospitality sector and expanded into all major asset classes, performing strategic fund advisory representing over $10.5 billion of real estate, investment sales brokerage of nearly $750 million in total value, and other advisory for an additional $1.1 billion of hotel, multifamily, office, senior housing, and retail assets.

Ms. Schmitz earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Hotel

Administration at Cornell University.

Scott Campbell works side-by-side with his clients on all aspects of real estate transactions to provide creative solutions to complex real estate issues. His practice focuses on real estate finance, acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures.

Scott focuses on sophisticated real estate transactions throughout the country and uses his experience to advise clients on innovative structuring and drafting solutions to help them achieve their business goals. Scott's practice regularly involves assets in the hospitality, industrial, sports and entertainment, office, multi-family, and senior housing sectors. Scott also routinely represents lenders and borrowers on mortgage loans, mezzanine loans, preferred equity transactions, and lender syndication agreements.

Working on market leading transactions, Scott's prior experience includes the financing of the largest single asset deal in New York City at the time, the acquisition of various ski resorts for Alterra Mountain Company, the acquisition of the Denver Broncos' real estate interests, and the sale of the Barclays Center (the latter two transactions also being part of the highest valuation for an NFL and NBA team, respectively, at the time).

In addition to his transactional work, Scott regularly writes articles, teaches CLEs and provides commentary on current real estate issues. Scott is a member of the Law360 Real Estate Editorial Board and a member of the Smart Leasing Advisory Board for the City and County of Denver.
