Why You Should Attend This Event

WHY THIS MATTERS

The Sun Belt has been the darling of residential real estate investors for a number of years, though the sentiment is softening a bit as the wave of delivers in the region's major cities has contributed to elevated vacancy.  Significant population growth in many major centers in the Southeast continues, but it may take some time for the supply to settle out. How long is very much market dependent, as is when new projects will proceed at the scale we've seen in recent years. Those concerns aside, shifts in policy have led to economic uncertainty and an elevated tariff environment that rapidly evolves. The first half of the year saw stagnation in deal flow as all of these factors coalesced, and the initial interest rate cuts in 2024 have not been followed up on with the same frequency.

This event will feature the firms navigating these headwinds to continue investment activity, with an eye on the long term in value of residential real estate in the Southeast represents. Bisnow, and assembled panelists, detail the most pressing challenges and areas of opportunity for the multifamily rea estate industry from Virginia to Alabama, and everyplace therein.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

  • How are managers and owners best navigating vacancy as it pertains to concessions?

  • Which investments in amenities and technologies are driving both resident attraction and retention?

  • How much are national firms and institutional capital sources focusing on the Southeast today?

  • What creative deal structures are helping move the value needle?

  • How will tariffs impact the building and development communities through the end of the year?

  • What level of supply chain issues should be anticipated for building products?

  • How is the design community aligning with resident demand and what's in?

  • How is the public sector helping to amplify housing affordability initiatives?

  • What is needed for affordable and workforce housing deals to pencil out today?

  • Which secondary or tertiary markets are gaining the greatest  investment attention?

  • What cities are the next frontier for development opportunity?

  • As the region's largest cities continue to grow, how have the speed and efficiency of municipal processes kept pace?
