Harold's Cross could become the next student hub in Dublin with the potential for student accommodation at the the former Kenilworth Motors site.

The land, which is for sale for €3.5M, has potential for up to 120 student beds according to a feasibility study by BKD Architects.

The agent, Savills Ireland, expects the high-profile site to attract a lot of interest due to its prime location approximately 3 kilometres south of St. Stephen's Green.

"The site is zoned for residential development and has an array of development opportunities, subject to planning permission," Savills Ireland Associate Colette Mulroy said.

The 0.54-acre site can be accessed via Laundry Lane and Harold’s Cross Road with 40 metres of frontage on the busy road.

The former Kenilworth Motors car showroom facility is still on the land but the building is vacant.

The area has a number of recent developments under construction at the moment, including the Cairn Homes' scheme at Marianella and the Archtree development at Mount Tallant Avenue.
