Denver's Office of the Future is Now

The office of the future, with its collaborative space and amenities, isn't coming to Denver—it's already here, and growing in popularity. That's why we're excited to present Bisnow's Denver Office of the Future event, which starts at 7:30am on Aug. 25 at the Four Seasons Denver.

Brookfield EVP Northern California & Mountain David Sternberg, who will be a speaker, tells us that his company is focused on making spaces in their buildings more attractive to the future and current creative workforce. "We're doing this by providing in-house amenities to support the live/work/play environment," he says.

"We recognize how workspaces need to be more open and provide more collaborative working areas with natural light," David adds. "We've been incorporating that into our planning, recruitment and retention efforts." It's also important for a building to be part of the urban fabric of a city, which was the goal when Brookfield transformed 1801 California, adding a Guard & Grace steak house, commissioning public art, and scheduling cultural experiences in both its indoor and outdoor public spaces.

John Madden Co CEO Blair Madden Bui, who will also be speaking at the event, tells us that her company has historically taken a holistic approach to development. "Wellness is a buzzword right now, but we’ve always tried to develop properties with the needs of the tenants and the surrounding community in mind," she says. "Whether it’s providing opportunities for our tenants and neighbors to enjoy art and music or designing our buildings for long-term sustainability, we develop properties with an eye towards adding value."

Blair explains that on the tenant side, her company's looking at things like proximity to mass transit, bike sharing programs, providing electric car ports for tenants, and offering a variety of healthier options in cafeterias. On the development side, "it's our goal for properties down the road to be net zero energy," she says.
