A new partnership between Denver-based Engrain and Rently will bring self-guided apartment tours to prospective renters this summer.

The companies are teaming up to allow prospective renters to securely and independently view properties whenever it is most convenient for them.

Engrain’s ToughTour and SightMap applications will integrate with Rently’s self-showing solutions platform to showcase live pricing and unit availability, as well as an option for potential residents to apply directly online.

“We believe this partnership with Rently represents a major step in the evolution of the traditional apartment search, as well as the property management process,” Engrain founder and CEO Brent Steiner said. “Not only will this technology fundamentally change how modern renters approach touring apartments, it will maximize efficiency of the leasing process and team resources, including time — meaning leasing teams spend fewer hours guiding tours and coordinating schedules and more time tracking new leads and providing quality customer service.”

At participating properties, prospective renters will be able to use Rently’s Lockboxes, Smart Locks and Smart Homes to tour apartments autonomously on their own schedules. Engrain’s ToughTour iPad application will guide prospective tenants around the home and give them access to apartment details, including floor plans, photos and amenities. Engrain’s SightMap application will provide other information, including unit availability and pricing.
