The inaugural hotel from new brand Origin Hotel Collection opens Friday in Golden near the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

As the official partner of world-renowned Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the 124-room Origin Red Rocks will showcase a rotating selection of memorabilia from the music venue’s collection, including posters, instruments and T-shirts.

Origin Red Rocks is the first of four Origin hotels being developed by The Thrash Group, a Hattiesburg, Mississippi-based developer that focuses on multifamily and hospitality projects. The company also is working on projects in Lexington, Kentucky; Raleigh, North Carolina; and Westminster, Colorado.

Just 10 minutes from Red Rocks, Origin Red Rocks will provide a shuttle to and from the amphitheater, considered by many to be the crown jewel of Colorado’s live music scene. The natural amphitheater is at the center of the 738-acre Red Rocks Mountain Park. Designed by Denver architect Burnham Hoyt, the 9,525-seat venue opened in 1941 after earlier events were performed on a temporary wooden stage in the naturally formed hollow between geological structures.

The Origin Hotel Collection provides its employees, which it refers to as the Tribe, with a variety of benefits, including:

The Origin Travel Program, which provides all employees with travel funds and access to more than 100 hotels at a rate of $25 for up to five nights a year, as well as a complimentary stay at any Origin property up to five nights annually. In return, employees are asked to share their experiences with their local Tribe as inspiration for upcoming adventures.

Origin Gives, in which the Tribe chooses one local nonprofit organization to support with $5K. Additionally, Origin will provide individual members of each Tribe with an extra $500 to be donated to the nonprofits of their choice. Employees also are given one paid vacation day a year to volunteer with the charity of their choice.

The Do List Perks, created to connect guests to local experiences, encourages employees to contribute to new experiences to The Do List for a monthly reward.

“We created the Origin Hotel Collection to give us the opportunity to build a different type of hotel for guests, while also taking an entirely different approach to management and ownership,” The Thrash Group partner Walker Thrash said. “We wanted to change hotel culture, and in order to do that, we decided to focus internally to ensure our team — or our Tribe — embraces the personality and core concepts of the brand.”
