Denver Real Estate on Hiring Spree

Denver's market is booming and commercial real estate companies are optimistic. How do we know? They're hiring.

The Denver market continues to flex its muscles and acquisition activity keeps increasing, so companies are "ramping up to accommodate growth," RETS Associates principal Kent Elliot tells us. He sees two hiring patterns playing out in Denver. The first is that Denver-based companies are expanding their teams across all positions, including property managers, asset managers, analysts and more, to continue on a growth pattern. The second is that out-of-market investors are acquiring properties in Denver, and are hiring both property managers to be on the ground in Denver and asset managers in the HQ (or elsewhere) to oversee the portfolio.

Kent also noted that with the acquisition activity, most of their recent placements have been for property managers, analysts or acquisition managers. Though most of their analysts are Millennials, "hiring in the Denver market isn't restricted to that age bracket.” RETS, which specializes in commercial real estate recruitment, has filled a number of positions in Denver recently, including two property managers, two financial analysts (a director and a senior associate) and a VP of asset management (retail).
