Step aside, Silicon Valley and Silicon Hills—DFW has been named the sixth best large market for tech talent, according to a new study from CBRE.

Markets with lots of fast-growing tech talent have driven office leasing demand, causing rising rents and declining vacancies across the board throughout Q2 2016.

CBRE's study analyzed the labor market in the 50 largest markets in the US and Canada and ranked them according to appeal for tech employers and employees.

Tech office rents in DFW hover around $23/SF with steadily declining occupancy at 18%. Those fundamentals keep CRE folks happy while a lower cost of living keeps tech talent happy. At an average living cost at 105%, DFW remains lower than the top five talent pools for tech workers.

In descending order, the San Francisco Bay area; Washington, DC; Seattle; New York; and Austin take the top five spots.
