Survey Finds Texans Are Excellent Online Shoppers

Placeholder

No Texan needs a survey to prove how much we love to shop online, but new data from NerdWallet and Honey proves that we're pretty good at it too.

Honey (the online browser extension that automatically finds discount codes for online purchases) tracked how much shoppers in each state saved when using the application.

Texans saved an average of 18% on e-commerce purchases. Average discounts per state ranged from 16.8% to 18.7%.

Fort Worth residents were the biggest bargain shoppers in the Lone Star State and 14th savviest in the country with an average savings of 18.5% per transaction. Unsurprisingly, Austinites are the most economical shoppers of all pet-related purchases, saving an average of 26.5% per purchase.

Eyeglasses retailers (such as Warby Parker, EyeBuyDirect and Frames Direct) accounted for the biggest category of savings in Texas. San Antonio, Spring, Dallas and Austin also ranked in the top 50 savviest cities for online shopping discounts.
