First Look: WeWork Uptown
WeWork Uptown at 1920 McKinney is still under construction, but we took a hard hat tour to get a sneak peek. WeWork GM for the Southern region Adam Wacenske (here) says WeWork Uptown is ahead of the leasing game in terms of demand, and hopes to open 50% to 60% full.
The space will open to the public in January 2017 with the capacity for about 850 members on the seventh and eighth floors of Parkview. WeWork just made another significant commitment to Dallas by signing 84k SF at Thanksgiving Tower, but Uptown will be the co-working giant's first Dallas location.
In addition to elevators, a staircase (pictured) will connect WeWork's adjacent floors. About 20 private phone booths and 18 conference rooms will span the two floors.
An event space (pictured) on the seventh floor will be available for anything from learning lunches to beer drinking. The 45k SF space will have three WeWork staffers to assist with operations, packages and office management.
WeWork Uptown's entrance (here) will have a big reception area with staff to welcome members and guests. The eighth floor will also have a large public balcony overlooking Downtown with enough space for members to lunch or work outside.
WeWork Uptown will have roughly 200 offices for one to 50 people. Higher capacity offices, such as the 50-person office (pictured), will have individual offices within them. Members in the 30-, 40- and 50-person offices also have a private balcony with a sick view of Downtown Dallas.
Adam tells us interest and leasing for the Uptown space have been positive since his team started giving hard hat tours last week. Individuals and companies in marketing, PR, business services and other types of professional services have been among the interested parties.
