Frisco's The Gate

Irving-based JPI Construction has broken ground on a 425-unit luxury apartment project in Frisco, part of the $1B, 40-acre project known as The Gate.

Jefferson at The Gate, on Dallas North Tollway at John Hickman Parkway, will be located in Frisco's so-called Platinum Corridor, an area also home to the Dallas Cowboys' corporate headquarters, The Star, and Frisco Station. The project is also less than 2 miles away from the successful Legacy West development.

Jefferson at The Gate is a partnership between JPI and MORE Residential. Dubai-based Invest Group Overseas is the master developer on The Gate, which has been in the works for more than three years.

The megaproject will include more than 1M SF of residential space, 854K SF of Class-A office space, a boutique hotel and 54K SF of retail. The Gate is expected to offer almost 1,000 apartment units across seven buildings.

Not all development is going well in the Frisco area: Wade Park, the biggest project along the Platinum Corridor, has stalled. The project currently owes millions in unpaid bills, the Dallas Morning News reports.
