Hillwood Properties To Build Nearly 2M SF Spec

Ross Perot Jr.’s Hillwood Properties is adding 1.75M SF of industrial space at its Alliance development in Fort Worth. The price tag: $28M. 

The company plans to build two buildings in Alliance Westport, and a third in Alliance Center North.The space isn’t pre-leased but is being built to attract a wide range of companies, according to the Forth Worth Star-Telegram.

Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of June.

The company is putting the three buildings adjacent to the BNSF Aliance Intermodal Facility and I-35 to help minimize transportation costs to distributors.

Hillwood's also in the process of acquiring 51 acres of farmland nearby, which will be rezoned for heavy industrial use.The Zoning Commission approved the request last week, and the City Council will vote on the proposed annexation on Feb. 16. [ST]
