A special servicer sold the 171k SP Garden Park Shopping Center (pictured) at 1565 W Main St in Lewisville to CIG Retail Properties. At the time of sale, the center was 83% leased. CBRE’s Jennifer Pierson and Beth Pierson repped the seller.

Columbus Pacific & Lormax Stern sold a 265k SF property at 1600 Eastchase Pkwy in Fort Worth to Cole Real Estate Investments. The seller was repped by CBRE’s Chris Cozby and Chris Gerard.

Venture Commercial completed the sale of two former Albertsons buildings in Mesquite and Frisco, repping the seller, Dallas Retail Associates. The Mesquite property is a 62k SF anchor building at 2106 N Galloway Dr. Venture’s John Zikos, Charlotte Cooper, Chris Corbin, and Chris Booras repped the seller, Dallas Retail Associates. The buyer, Paso Vista Properties, was self-repped. The Frisco property is a 56k SF anchor building partially occupied by an ALDI grocery store at 6951 Preston Rd. John, along with Venture colleagues Tonya Hagood and Chris, repped Dallas Retail Associates in the sale. The buyer, The Tana Group, was self-repped.

Bloomfield Homes purchased 15 acres at FM 720 and Martop Road in Oakpoint from MC Oakpoint. Wayne Pickering repping Bloomfield Homes and Myers Commercial’s Bob Myers repping the seller.

The Henry S Miller Cos hosted its first softball charity tournament with all proceeds going directly to Family Gateway. Team registration fees and day-of donations totaled more than $3,000. The tournament hosted seven teams and received donations from nine companies: Henry S. Miller Cos, The Retail Connection (first place winners, pictured), Bright Realty, The Weitzman Group, Venture Commercial, Marcus & Millichap, Armorstar, Lee & Associates, and UCR.

The Society of Commercial Realtors elected its officers for 2014: The Makens Co’s Bill Makens as chairman, Ellis & Tinsley’s C.B. Team as vice chairman, Cantrell Commercial Real Estate’s Colt Cantrell as secretary/treasurer, and CASE Commercial Real Estate Partners’ Tyler Trahant as immediate past chairman. Governors for 2014 include: William C. Jennings Co’s David Aldrich, Rattikin Title Co’s Norma Crow, Gene Jolley Co’s Gene Jolley, The Newberry Co’s Huck Newberry, RE/MAX Associates I’s Sue Sistrunk, Ritter and Associates’ Mark Sullivan, and Community Bank’s Mark Thielke.

The Real Estate Council elected its new 2014 board members: Compatriot Capital CEO Paul Rowsey will serve as chairman and Gables Residential prez/CEO Sue Ansel will be vice chairman.
