DFW Has Highest Financial Services Growth In US

Dallas-Fort Worth has racked up another accolade. The Metroplex experienced the greatest financial services employment growth of all the "active" markets (aka markets that have grown significantly since 2006, yet still have affordable real estate and labor) in the US, according to CBRE.

The 285,000 jobs DFW has added in the financial sector since 2010 have earned it the top spot ahead of Columbus, OH, Nashville, Phoenix and San Antonio. Whereas the US's financial activities have grown by 8% since 2010, DFW's have grown by more than 20%

The report credits heightened regulations and labor competition for tech companies for the increased demand in secondary markets.

CBRE head of occupier research in the Americas Julie Whelan says these economic realities are driving tech companies to flock to new cities of finance such as DFW.
