Pegasus Lands at the Omni

Placeholder

Just a few weeks ago, we told you about the original Pegasus finding a new home at the Omni Dallas Hotel. On Saturday, Bisnow’s Texas business manager, Karen Pierre, snapped this shot from the Santa Fe Terminal No. 2 Building (now the SoCo Lofts) while she was giving a tour of the building as a rooftop docent for Preservation Dallas. It was part of a first-ever historical rooftop tour event for Downtown Dallas Inc and Preservation Dallas. The pegasus was unveiled on April 25.

Karen also snapped this photo of June Mattingly and Dallas city attorney Warren Ernst. June’s father made the original Pegasus that flew over Downtown Dallas from 1934 to 1999. A new, updated version replaced it on New Year's Eve 2000. Karen tells us other properties on the historic rooftop tour included Thanks-giving Square, 1505 Elm, Mercantile Place, The Continental, The Wilson Building, Dallas Power & Light Flats and a wrap-up party at Third Rail Lofts.
