We learned about deals across the country as we popped in Thursday to check out the ICSC Texas Conference & Deal Making at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. We found two Baylor grads in the Starbuck's line, Cypress Equities' Allison Campbell and Karly Kilroy. (We Baylor grads can smell each other, it's a skill you learn freshman year.) Karly tells us she's working on a new 220k SF ground-up development in San Francisco on Market Street.

We got breaking news from Henry S Miller's Daniel Harris (third from right between Monica James, Missy Hodges, and Greg Miller) who tells us he's working with the European-based Elos AquaStudios in its second US location. Daniel tells us his client has rights to Texas and a deal should be locked-down by year's end. This location follows the first in New Jersey and the firm is only planning three stores in the US.

Decatur city manager Brett Shannon (right, with Decatur Economic Development Corp's Ida Mae Burnett) says the Wise County county seat is a medical community with hospitals and specialty doctors not found outside the big cities. (In case you need a chiropodist.) He tells us the city also has an industrial co-op effort on 350 acres zoned industrial with water and sewer available.

Here we found Dallas-based Corinth Properties EVP Terrence Maiden, San Antonio-based Espensen Commercial Realty's Scott Espensen, and Katy-based Academy Sports & Outdoors senior real estate manager Carr Thomson. Academy just opened 71k SF stores in Garland and Flower Mound. Academy now owns 170 stores nationwide, and 87 in Texas alone. Will one of Terrence's Dallas projects house the next new location?

We caught up with Atlanta-based RaceTrac director of real estate Sean Maclaurin, real estate analyst Cameron Bagley, and director of real estate Trey Spivey and learned that the store just opened its 100th store in the DFW area in Frisco. The trio tells Bisnow that RaceTrac's ideal location for store-owned RaceTrac stores in high-volume, high-traffic metropolitan areas with a 6,000 SF building and 18 to 24 fueling positions.
