Red Mango franchisee Bill Chinn
Red Mango franchisee Bill Chinn just opened his first DFW area self-serve location in the Shops at Legacy in Plano, bringing his store tally to six (one in College Station, the rest in the Dallas area). And he has plans for more. The former GameStop SVP tells us he felt the call of entrepreneurship when he discovered Red Mango. It was a chance to introduce the brand in several forms—traditional stores, co-branded locations, and self-serve designs. Red Mango is looking to expand to Fort Worth and actively seeking franchise prospects and real estate possibilities there, company officials say.
Red Mango
Founder Dan Kim relocated the company's HQ to Dallas last year because it was a great central US destination from which to grow a national chain, say Red Mango leaders. There are now more than 60 US locations, including Houston, where our reporter snapped the first opening in January. Last week, the company announced it has awarded agreements for more than 70 additional locations from January through April of 2010. Red Mango also just entered DFW Airport  and has been added to the menu of several locations for The Grove in key terminals.
