Telecom giant Ericsson inked two lease agreements with Pillar Commercial to take nearly 260k SF, adding to the 200k SF it already occupies in the former Nortel campus at 2201-2221 Lakeside Blvd in Richardson. Ericsson will now occupy 460k SF of the two buildings? 800k SF. Pillar closed on its purchase of the complex out of bankruptcy on June 3 and was repped by Manny Ybarra, founder and principal. Ericsson was repped by Cushman & Wakefield ?s Mike Wyatt and Ken Johnston.

Because of Nortel?s prior capital investment in the project, the site had some of the most robust power and telecommunications infrastructure of any property in the area. To break it down: The first agreement with Ericsson was a renewal of the company's current 200k SF in the campus? low-rise research and development building, as well as an additional 60k SF. Ericsson also signed a new lease to occupy 200k SF in the campus? main tower.
