In a startling move, rock n roll superstar- turned-hunting aficionado Ted Nugent partnered with Nascar legend Richard Petty to purchase 300 acres near Texas Motor Speedway with plans to build a racing-themed outlet mall, hotel, and indoor shooting range just off SH 114 and I-35, sources tell us.
Word is that the Nuge and the King plan a 1M SF three-story shopping mall themed around Nascar and hunting. While a hotel partner has not been named, early designs reveal guests will only be able to reach rooms by taking left turns. The decor, from the sheets to the staff uniforms, will be entirely checkered-flag.
Uncle Teds Shooting Range already has a restaurant tenant: Paneara Bread is fast casual where somebody's "Pa" will always be "near" to tell stories about how things were better in the old days. Dirt should start turning soon for the $450M project with a targeted completion of April Fool’s Day 2013.
