Chicago's First Teavana Tea Bar

Chicago The Scene

Chicago’s been eating its feelings to stay warm over this long winter (see ramen and straight-from-the-oven donuts), so tea makes sense as the next warm and toasty trend to wash it all down. Exhibit A: The Southport Corridor.

Seemingly filled to the brim with hot drink options (Starbucks, Julius Meinl, David’s Tea, Café Tola), the trendy retail strip will now host the first Chicago Teavana Fine Teas + Tea Bar location, scheduled to open later this month. Baum Realty Group principal Adam Secher and senior associate Jonathan Feld repped Teavana, a Starbucks subsidiary, in its 1,780 SF lease at newly constructed 3428 N Southport Ave. (Here’s a construction update, snapped this morning.) You can expect more locations around the city. The first opened in NYC in October and Teavana plans to open 1,000 stores in North America within 10 years.
