In a coup for The 601W Cos, a major local employer is moving its corporate HQ to One Prudential Plaza, a move that brings the 601-foo-tall building to 85% occupancy. Wilson Sporting Goods will occupy the fifth and sixth floors of the 41-story structure starting in December 2017.

The move gives Wilson a marquee Chicago address and allows Wilson to be closer to the companies it works with, according to the Chicago Tribune. Wilson's most notable brand is Louisville Slugger baseball bats. Other brands include DeMarini and ATEC baseball equipment, and Amer Sports.

Wilson was founded in Chicago in 1914. Its current HQ is at 8750 West Bryn Mawr, near O'Hare. As part of the 12-year lease, Wilson will be able to hoist its logo on the building, but it will be on the fourth floor. [Trib]
