M&R Development opened the first new luxury apartments in north suburban Wilmette in over a decade.

The Residences of Wilmette, a transit-oriented development across the street from the Wilmette Metra station, brings 75 new apartments to the village's inventory. Units range from 650 SF convertibles to 1,550 SF three-bedroom units, with rents starting at $2,100/month. All units feature condo-quality finishes, including quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances and nine and a half foot ceilings, while select apartments have private terraces or balconies.

The Residences of Wilmette is loaded with amenities, including a 6,800 SF outdoor space on the second floor with a communal fire pit and multiple grilling stations, a steam room with color therapy technology, a sauna and hot tub, and a pet spa with grooming station, a hydraulic lift and oversized bath for larger pets. The development also includes 6,200 SF of street-level retail.

M&R partnered with Globe Corp. in building the Residences at Wilmette, and RMK Management is handling property management.
