Demolition Begins For Wrigleyville Hotel Project

Chicago Hotel

Demolition started this morning at the McDonald's across from Wrigley Field. The teardown at 3620 N Clark will make way for a 175-room hotel across the street from the Friendly Confines.

The hotel is part of the Cubs' $575M Wrigley Field renovation plan. Team owners, the Ricketts family, owned the property the McDonald's called home, and installed a souvenir shop next to it that was also torn down for the hotel construction, DNAInfo reports.

Construction will take place during the upcoming season on off days, when the Cubs are on the road and during the offseason. The hotel is expected to be delivered in late 2017/early 2018, and McDonald's will have retail space inside. [DNA]
