McCaffery Interests to Buy Aspen Foods Building

Dan McCaffery (pictured) of McCaffery Interests is purchasing the 45k SF Aspen Foods poultry processing facility for a rumored $10.5M. While he declined to disclose an actual price for the comparatively small two-story purchase at 1115 W Fulton Market, McCaffery stated that the evolving area was just too hard to pass up. Overall interest in the growing district has peaked since Google confirmed plans to move to the former Fulton Market Cold Storage building at 1000 W Fulton Market, once Sterling Bay completes its conversion into offices, Crain's Chicago Business reports. Other key players in the area include the Soho House, a lease by Billy Reid, and a $26M deal for four buildings by New York retail investor Madison Capital. [CCB]
