ComEd’s Retro-Commissioning Study

Can Lower Energy Usage

ComEd project manager Richard Tonielli

ComEd project manager Richard Tonielli tells us that the utility’s Smart Ideas for Your Business® Retro-Commissioning Study (RCx) helps uncover low-cost and no-cost energy saving opportunities in buildings through a systematic evaluation of mechanical and electrical systems. The study is provided at no cost to ComEd customers, and you only pay for the cost of implementing the improvements recommended in the study. By making adjustments and improvements to your facility’s operational systems, you can benefit from lower energy usage and operating costs, reduced maintenance requirements, and improved occupant comfort and productivity.  On average, retro-commissioning can result in a 5% reduction in baseline usage, potentially freeing up dollars in your operations budget for capital improvements and other expenditures. ComEd has also partnered with Nicor Gas, Peoples Gas, and North Shore Gas to provide a comprehensive retro-commissioning analysis to identify both electric and natural gas savings opportunities in your facility. To find more information, visit ComEd.com/RcX.
