Running the Network
Collete English-Dixon
New CREW Network president Collete English-Dixon (of Prudential Real Estate Investors) says women in CRE are ready to take it to the next level. In the last five years, more women have made it to theVP level of their companies, yet they're facing challenges breaking into the C-Suite and need one more thing—sponsorship. While CREW is already providing women with mentoring opportunities, they're now focusing on the importance of women getting sponsors to recommend them for higher positions and to help them achieve career goals. Collete, who's been a CREW member since the 1980s(starting with CREW Atlanta), says the connections she's made have helped her build successful teams throughout her career.

The CREW Network has grown to 73 chapters and 8,000 members this year and its accompanying CREW Foundation is giving out about$100K annually in scholarships for young women looking to go into real estate. Collete (here at the national CREW Convention with president-elect Diane Butler of Butler Burgher Group, past presidentKristin Blount, and Dylan Taylor, both with Colliers) says she plans to focus on the stengthening individual chapters and increasing the diversity of the organization in 2011.
