RESTAURANT ROULETTE
Marche
@properties has re-leased two historic restaurant properties in the West and South Loops. The first, Jerry Kleiner's former Marche space at 833 W Randolph, will become a new Bohemian European restaurant concept from the team that brought us Old Town Social. @properties' Danny Spitz negotiated the 10k SF lease on behalf of the landlord New Realty Management and also tenants Chris DexterChris FreemanJohn Warken, and Jared Van Camp (aka the owners of Old Town Social). Danny says the new lease will help the revitalization that's been going on since Top Chef Stephanie Izard's Girl and the Goat took up residency on West Randolph. Other recent openings have included Maude and The Haymarket.

The opening of The Scout Waterhouse + Kitchen sports bar and neighborhood eatery in the former Opera restaurant space around May 1 will boost morale a bit. @properties Landon Harper brokered the sale of the restaurant (business) between the Opera owner Kleiner and the new operators George ArchosJeff Wolfe, andChristopher Bravos. These foodies will lease the 7,000 SF building owned by Georg Bosek. Also worth noting, Christopher owns the Pony Inn on West Belmont, which was made famous by an all-night post-Stanley Cup party last June. George is known for the chain ofWildberry Cafes he operates in the 'burbs. The new restaurant will be the team's first collaboration. Landon (btw, he lives in the South Loop) hopes it will draw in baseball fans from all over the city; we wish him luck trying to get Cubs fans south of the river on game day.
