Leasing with Lasers

Landlords and their reps could show tenant brokers their space withwalkthroughs or happy hours. Or they could let them play laser tag on a vacant floor, especially when it's too cold out to do anything else. MB Real Estate's Ed McKim and Wally Henning, here with colleagues Mark Buth and Andrew Fredrick, did just that at 55 W Wacker on Thursday. Added incentive: $50 gift cards to anyone who comes on a real, qualified tour of the 10k SF of vacant Class-B space on the 15th floor or their 7,000 SF block on the 18th floor ofThe LaSalle Wacker.

Six teams of four brokers played along, each starting from one corner and using cubicle walls and office furniture for cover. MB plans the same game in a different building leasing portfolio next quarter.

The winners: Bradford Allen's Justin KesslerPaul ShahBen Azulay, and Brandon Haddock. Sure they have mad laser tag skills, but they also welcomed Anthony Gianni to the team to work on capital markets biz, and they've closed a three-year, $9.5M loan for the purchase of a single-story office in Elmhurst by Dukes Bridge, a JV of Blue Vista Capital and Bridge Development Partners.
