INTERNATIONAL FIRM SIGNS ON FOR CHI HQ
Yet another corporation plans to call Chicago home, and this is the first international firm establishing a North American HQ here that Mayor Rahm Emanuel got to announce.

ThyssenKrup escalator
Germany's ThyssenKrupp will open its office here this summer. In case it sounds familiar, it makes carbon steel, auto parts, elevators, escalators (umbrellas come separately), and passenger boarding bridges (we don't ever want to experience airports without these guys' influence). ThyssenKrupp got no incentives from the city, but Illinois is home to heavy equipment manufacturers that the firm can source, and nearby Michigan's got the car companies to buy ThyssenKrupp goodies.
