First Look: HOK's New Chicago Head

Ray Clark Studio

We caught up with Ray Clark, former Perkins+Will managing director and new SVP and management principal at HOK, who granted us the first interview of his new position--and the details on his resume without borders. In town, he's worked on the CBS Media Tower and 40-story One South Dearborn. Abroad: the 1.9M SF Merchant Square in London; King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh; 88-story Jin Mao Tower in Shanghai (below); and 44-story Hotel Arts in Barcelona.

What you might not know about Ray: he's an avid Sox fan and big on college basketball. A "Midwest kid with a passion for adventure," he also enjoys water skiing, golfing (badly, he says), reading, and travel. On the business front, his HOK gig will focus on management responsibilities and business development in Chicago and the Midwest region. His mantra: "Grow a problem-solving practice that is transparent, flexible, and delivers excellence in all aspects of our services."
