FINALLY TIME FOR ROYCEMORE SCHOOL
Roycemore Groundbreaking
Four years of searching are leading to a groundbreaking for Roycemore School. The 100-year-old Evanston private school started looking for a new site that would remain near its current students and public transit and provide room for expansion as it looks to grow from 250 to 350 students. They needed room for a gym and playground as well as a building that was set up for new technologies (what's trig without an iPhone?). This winter, the school picked 1200 Davis St, formerly home to the General Board of Pension Benefits for the United Methodist Church; the site will go from one non-profit to another and also give Roycemore room for a new playground (which the office workers probably would have enjoyed, too). The Dobbins Group is the architect for the 68k SF building. Podolsky Northstar CORFAC International helped in the site selection. (Those shovels look a little clean...let's get to work.)
