CBRE Promotes Todd Caruso

| The 27-year CBRE veteran is now the leader of the retail agency practice for brokerage and asset management in the Americas. Formerly managing the eastern half of the country in its retail practice, Todd is hoping to expand CBRE's management practice, increase the number of listings nationwide, and build a strong retail team coming out of the recession. CBRE's current US retail roster includes about 470 brokers. | |

| In the Chicago area, CBRE is listing about 11M SF, including Westport Commons on the South Side (pictured). Todd anticipates that the next year will bring a slow and steady recovery of the retail markets, with mom-n-pop retailers continuing to struggle as discount mid-boxers like TJ Maxx start to grow. Health clubs, fast casual food restaurants, and specialty grocers continue to make a strong showing. Todd says throughout his long tenure at CBRE, he's experienced lots of changes, which provides him with a constant challenge and source of stimulation. |
