Avison Young Staffs Up
It's been just five months since we lasted visited Avison Young, but they've almost tripled in size. Its new tenant rep team is looking to lease 5,000 to 6,000 SF of downtown office space, if you have any available.

We snapped AY's Jason KleimanBrian MeansSuzanne MartinezMike McKiernan, and John Ziesmer at their temporary office space yesterday. Brian and John along with Kimberlyn DeBuhr and Kevin Moore came over from Grubb & Ellis as a team last week, specializing in CBD tenant rep. Mike, an AY veteran of almost two years, says it's easier to start growing a company during a recession—industry vets like John probably wouldn't even consider a move to another shop  three years ago.

John, a 27-year industry vet, says the people are what brought them to AY. Having worked at several larger shops, he's excited to have the opportunity to have  an entrepreneurial bent. Mike says AY will announce another handful of new teams coming over in the next couple of weeks, and is shooting for $25M to $30M in revenues from the Chicago office each year. Suzanne is helping the capital markets team grow, joining the firm from JLL in January.
