$246k of Emanuel Campaign Funds from Developers

As Mayor Emanuel’s campaign fundraising almost reaches $30M, more than four times what his challengers have raised combined, the Chicago Sun-Times reports that a significant chunk of that money has come from developers with recently approved or in-the-pipeline city projects. The highlights include: $65k from McCaffery Interests’ Dan McCaffery, his wife and a company exec (after the mayor backed his Children’s Memorial project in Lincoln Park), as well as $75k from Logan Theatre redeveloper Mark Fishman, who had snagged TIF assistance from the City before the mayor took office (then City Council approval for it in 2013). Ah, the Chicago machine’s circle of life.
