'09 IN THE REAR VIEW

CoreNet Chicago hosted its Holi-done party last night to finish off the booze left over from 2009. DSI's Steve Callen, OFS Brands'Dennie Long, Interior Investments' Robert King, and Interior Architects' R.J.  Brennan were on hand at the Dana Hotel's Vertigo lounge, complete with outdoor ice bar. Steve's company just finished a 35k-SF interior build-out for BCD Travel at 500 W. Madison. The space included the latest in video technology (which we assume means James Cameron had something to do with it). MB Real Estate  manages the building.

Eppstein Uhen Architects' Tom Stacey and Becknell Development's Brian Hayes  rung in 2010 with new projects: Tom is working with new small company incubators that are receiving gov't grants in Whitewater and Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, and hoping to expand that business into Illinois. Brian just joined Becknell in October and has already done a deal for a Kraft  warehouse in Phoenix. We were going to make a joke about our favorite Kraft product, but it would've just been cheesy. Nay, Cheez Whizzy.
