Core Properties, working through affiliate Steele-Trojan Properties, plans to develop a commercial center in the burgeoning Steele Creek neighborhood, with as much as 35k SF of retail, a 180-room hotel, up to 50k SF for office or medical uses, and a gas station. That's according a rezoning petition filed for the site, the Charlotte Business Journal reports. The property is a 16.4-acre site northwest of Steele Creek Road and east of Outlets Boulevard along Trojan Drive.

Another petition involving a Steele Creek site describes a plan by LG Acquisitions LLC, which is affiliated with Leon Capital Group, to develop as much as 85k SF of retail and restaurant space, 105 hotel rooms and 200 residential units on 25 acres on Steele Creek Road, across from Shopton Road West and Dixie River Road. The development, which might be called Steele Creek Crossing, would probably include a grocery store anchor. [CBJ]
