Google Growing in Cambridge … Again
Cambridge Center
Boston Properties won city approval Tuesday to add on another 50k SF for prized tenant Google to expand and enhance its urban campus in Cambridge Center near MIT. As part of the deal, the Kendall Square landlord also agreed to build a 200k SF residential building on Ames St in response to residents? wish to have more housing in the neighborhood where millions of square feet of new labs and offices are being developed. No doubt, the Cambridge City Council had at least one eye on Boston City Hall, where reps of Mayor Menino were trying to entice the Internet search engine to resettle at the waterfront. (They should post a video on Youtube.)
