| Moving ahead with the $450M Fenway Center, Meredith Management's Jon Rosenthal, the developer, says last week his firm recommended to the MBTA on a preliminary basis that Walsh Construction build the T?s $12M Yawkee station linked to the project. In the public procurement process, he says Walsh had the lowest bid, most experience, and best qualifications. Jon (whom we snapped at Newire?s annual luncheon) says construction is set to start in October on the station that will increase commuter rail traffic from 17 to about 35 stops a day. It will not only service his project and the ballpark, it's the closest commuter stop to the LMA, a top economic engine for the state. |
