40 B. Goode
Riemer & Braunstein?s land-use attorney Bob Buckley
Maybe Chuck Berry can write the anthem for folks like Riemer & Braunstein land-use attorney Bob Buckley who oppose the measure on the ballot this fall that seeks to repeal the state affordable housing law, Chapter 40B. We snapped Bob explaining his opinion. Most of the multifamily developments that have affordable units do so thanks to 40B, he says: ?It's the only program that's resulted in affordable housing being built.? In municipalities where less than 10% of the housing stock is deemed affordable by state standards, a developer willing to make 25% of the units in a project affordable doesn?t have to abide by local requirements to win permission to build. Bob says 40B helps people and businesses. ?If young professionals can't afford to live here, businesses will go elsewhere.?
