Under Armour CEO Addresses Civil Unrest

The first thing on Kevin Plank's mind wasn't Under Armour's earnings or its latest products at its annual shareholder meeting on Wednesday. Instead, the CEO addressed the riots that wreaked havoc on the city this week. "Like many, Under Armour is deeply saddened by the events in our hometown, and our thoughts and prayers go out to Freddie Gray’s family," he said at the meeting, the Baltimore Business Journal reports. "But we are one Baltimore and we will work towards positive change with local leaders and groups on and off the sports field in the neighborhoods that drive change throughout the city in any way that we can.” Besides operating Baltimore's fastest-growing public company, Plank has invested in major commercial real estate projects, including a distillery in Port Covington and a hotel at Recreation Pier in Fells Point.
