$13M Remington Food Hall R. House Opening This Month

The long-anticipated food hall R. House will make its debut Dec. 8, featuring 10 permanent food and drink stalls in a renovated, former car showroom and garage.

Seawall Development led the $13M transformation of the 50k SF space, which houses 15-foot windows and roll-up garage doors. Some of the concepts include vegetarian street food from Melanie Molinaro; modern Mediterranean street food from Baba's Mediterranean Kitchen owner Farid Salloum; and craft cocktail spot R. Bar from Aaron Joseph and Amie Ward.

The building also houses 6k SF for community gatherings and private events, as well as a a pop-up space that allows chefs to try out new concepts.

The number of food halls grew nationally by 37% during the first nine months of 2016, according to a new Cushman & Wakefield report.
