The development firm leading the transformation of Baltimore's Inner Harbor has a new president.

MCB Real Estate hired Gina Baker Chambers, who previously served as senior managing director at Artemis Real Estate Partners. The role of president is a new one for MCB, which described it in a release as a "significant milestone in the company's journey of continued growth and innovation."

Founded in 2009 by P. David Bramble and Peter Pinkard and headquartered just north of The Maryland Zoo, MCB says it has grown its assets under management from $1B to $3B over the last four years. Its portfolio spans several asset classes across Maryland, Virginia, D.C., Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida and Massachusetts.

The firm's highest-profile project this year is the overhaul of Baltimore's iconic Harborplace mall. On Oct. 30, it revealed new renderings and plans for the project, which would demolish the two-story retail pavilions and build a 32-story mixed-use building with up to 1,000 residential units, plus three smaller buildings with commercial space and a 2,000-seat amphitheater.

"I am honored to assume the role of President at MCB and lead the organization through this exciting phase of expansion," Chambers said in a release. "Together, we will harness the power of strategic investments to not only generate impressive returns for our investors but also to catalyze positive change in the communities we serve."

Chambers had worked since 2009 at Artemis, a Bethesda-based investment firm where she worked on capital raising, acquisitions, asset management and investor relations. She raised more than $2.5B in institutional capital during her time there, according to MCB's release.

MCB has partnered with Artemis on more than $500M in transactions, giving its executives a glimpse of Chambers' skill set.

"Partnering with Gina for 8 years, we were challenged and pushed in the very best ways," Bramble said in the release. "She is a game changer with the vision, relationships, and passion to scale MCB to our full potential."
