Looks like Google Inc is going to provide more fiber in Atlanta's big data diet. The online search engine giant intends to announce that Atlanta is one of four cities in the expansion of its 1 gigabit-per-second fiber network, according to the Wall Street Journal. Other cities on its target list: Charlotte, Raleigh and Nashville. Launched in Kansas City, Google fiber is gradually making a rollout in select cities. The service costs $80/month, and offers speeds 10 times faster than average Internet connections.
